My take on the DLC

The SH*T is hitting the fan. Bush is losing ground politically - and his polls are showing growing alarm across the spectrum. His corporate masters are getting nervous.....very nervous. And so, they are abandoning him - or at least a portion of them are tryingto take over the DLC as a viable alternative to the republicans....but you see - everything the DLC has recently put out is precisely the same as the GOP.

If people abandon Bush - and flock to the Democrats - the corporate masters are positioning themselves to continue to rule - different party - same crap.

I had a conversation via DU a few days ago that indicated that some of Bush corporate masters are not happy with Bush - and this is why we are seeing dissent in the media via Rovegate. But is isn't BECAUSE of Rovegate - it is because Bush has failed to ensure the corporate's what they wanted in Iraq - and Iran has gained far more than America.

So - here is a theory - what the DLC is now touting indicates a symptom of some of the trouble Bush is in. He is losing his base - and they are infiltrating the DLC.

Corporate conservatives prefer Republicans, but they will also back Corporate DLC Democrats to hedge their bets.

It's not a sinister conspiracy. Just the politics of power and money.

The problem is those Democrats who have rolled over and accepted their (perhaps unwitting) role as Trojan Horses.

The DLC has always been the corporate wing of the Democratic Party.

Their masters are coming back to re-invigorate the centrist minority movement because their overzealous power grab with the GOP has run out of steam.

The DLC and the RNC are ideologically fairly similar, and always have been.

But then we could still contend that if the masters were "coming back" it would indicate Bush is in far more trouble than we are aware of. He IS losing his base......

8. Valid Theory...Let's Bell The Cat

And as a member of the left wing, in some ways I would welcome it.

We have them where we want them now...let them in, but make sure we Bell the Cat.

The Democratic philosophy is about prosperity...for all. I have no problems with anyone improving their lot in life...as long as everyone has an equal opportunity to do it.

As long as they don't destroy the environment doing it.

As long as they don't promote War as a means for profit to do it.

As long as they don't tromp on the Rights of Individuals.

There are alternative ways we can show them ...let them put their business skills to good use...alternative energy is a wide open field where the profits in the long run will dwarf those from the exploitation of dirty fossil fuels.

Space exploration, alternative civilian transportation systems, bio-genetic research, artificial intelligence/next generation IT infrastructure, are all fields that the Defense industry can turn to and apply their expertise. Let's steer them there.

When the least of us prospers, ALL of us prosper. It doesn't have to be an either or.

The danger lies in letting THEM dictate the agenda...The Cat Must Be Belled.

the DLC dems will team up with the true conservatives of the GOP & form their own right-to-centrist party. True liberals will have to find another party as the DLC dems (through their corporate interests) have watered down our party & abandoned us.

We need a party that is truly FOR THE PEOPLE.

12. The grass/netroots must marginalize the DLC

After we help take back the house the progressive community needs to train its focus on building a solid movement to expose and repudiate the DLC.

The DLC is the biggest threat to the Democratic Party.
