I feel it is grim...BUT...the only mistake they have made |
|
that I feel MIGHT be their undoing...is getting in the crosshairs of the CIA. The CIA will, IMHO, be the ONLY ones who will be able to bring this administration down, if indeed they are brought down. However, I think if that little feat was accomplished...then as citizens, it is OUR responsibility to clean house in Washington. There are obviously too many--of both parties--that have enabled this cancerous growth to continue and they need to be gone. All of them--with VERY few exceptions.

2. Let Fitzgerald Speak First... |
|
I have tremendous faith that this investigation is broadening to allow a close scrutiny to not only the leaking of Plame, but the entire conspiracy to lie about WMDs and the entire invasion. Any criminal indictments and convictions will validate a lot of the other information (DSM) that has come forth about this regime's illegal deceptions, and then the wheels of justice will move slow, but they will be thorough.
The CIA isn't all evil...people like Plame and many others are that trip-wire that tells us what's really going on around the world. It's up to the regime that's in charge to interpret this data and act on it. This regime has abused and beat up on the CIA...Plame is just the tip of the rough-shod handling of this agency by this regime. People like Larry Johnson are a perfect example of what CIA used to be about, and how pissed many in the agency are about the status quo. That's not a bad thing right now when we have a regime that feels it can get away with torture and treason and if it gets away with this scam they'll go for even more.
Methinks this regime overplayed it's hand and got sloppy. They read their press clippings and thought they were too smart by half...and could play their partisan games with little detection or impunity. These assholes...especially in the days following the election when Fitzgerald was doing a lot of the testimony, felt they had a "mandate" and were even more full of themselves.
Let's let the process procede. There's a prosecutor, a grand jury and several judges who seem to believe there's some real criminality going on within the upper echelons of this regime. I felt a similar way you do about Richard Nixon, but learned the power of the law does and will trump politics every time.
Peace...
