my father at 67 is "getting religion". he has walked christs path all his life, in his actions. yet at 67 religion is suggesting to my father he is a christian. he was always. he didnt need a church to tell him.
a friend, 26 she became a christian. she tells me at a museum. (i suspect that is when she was baptized. 26 years she walk the walk, but didnt become until a religion told her. she always was
60's thru the 90's christians knew the planet was old, real old. we didnt preach creationism. foolish. a story. 4 decades of my life. 14% believed in creationism in 2000. for the last three years i have watched the number climb, 28%, 35%, 48% and last saw at 54%
i find out last couple weeks, my religious friends believe creationism. they are educated and old.
my father, a couple nights ago, tried to make me believe. i have known him for 67 years, he knows better
democrats cannot pretend this isnt happening.
why is it important. it was taught to my 10 year old. with a man has an extra rib.
well, no. that isnt why it is important for everyone else, but pisses me off.
scalia, thomas and now roberts, catholic whatever. scalia takes old testament. old testament it is ok to abuse murder women. slavery is ok. scalia has documentation telling lawyer students in chicago, women better mind their place and blacks better think back to the 30's
it is in our judicial
senate on sunday passed a law......baptist beliefs,.....it is in our government
this has to be challenged.
my friend said kerry used religion. (repug line). kerry was beat up because he refused to allow religion in government. the very people accusing kerry of this (were using religion but more) got the soon to be pope to send a letter to a cardinal to not give communion to kerry, because he insists on following our constitution by not allowing religion into government
the irony

5. I apologize in advance, but ... |
|
... I have no idea what this means, apart from you seeing an evolution display at a museum.

First, it is a reality that most Americans, and therefore most voters, are at least nominally religious. Consequently, care must be taken when approaching this matter. There are no points for second place and there is no victory in sticking with principal only to be shut out of power.
Second, most religious people accept the fact of evolution, though many feel that it was how God created life on Earth. Sticking up for science and evolution is important not only to defend the truth but also to encourage critical thinking about all things. This is what Fundies (and now the Vatican) find objectionable. They don't want critical thinking, period.

that we have to have this conversation in 2005. Creationism? are you fucking kidding me? They are unable to draw obvious conclusion from observed facts. They seek shelter in comforting falsehoods. And they insist ojn imposing their delusions on those who are rational. Why don't we all join the flat earth society and get our horoscopes done, while we're at it?
