Chalk up one more conservative in Hollywood: Chuck Norris.
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 09:56 PM by Loyal
I was flipping through channels a couple of days ago, and I came upon Hannity and Colmes. It was towards the end of the show, and they had Chuck Norris on, to get his thoughts on the recall. Like any one even gives a shit what another Hollywood actor thinks about it, but I listened, and Chuck really made me sick. He talked about how Arnold Schwarzenegger would make a great governor, how he's known Arnold for over 20 years, and how he loves our great president George W. Bush :puke:. Why did Chuck have to do this? I was hoping that he would say he supported Davis/Bustamante and was a good Democrat. I used to watch Walker, Texas Ranger all the time, and I'm just disappointed. :( At least he served in the military though in Korea, unlike *.

11. I remember seeing him campaign for Poppy
Shrub in 1988 and 1992, so this doesn't surprise me at all.

3. He's a Reagan Republican
Probably a hard core Republican from what I've always heard him say. Sorry you didn't know, it can be so disappointing sometimes. Of them all, Bruce Willis disappoints me most. The kind of guy he is, just seems like he ought to know better.

9. Strangely
He was at a recent Gray Davis fundraiser.
On Thursday evening, more than 100 people attended a $1,000-a-head Hollywood fund-raiser for Davis at the Century Plaza Hotel. Guests included Beatty and his wife, Annette Bening, Jack Nicholson, Bruce Willis and other celebrities.

Probably wants to block his boxoffice nemesis from the governorship more than he wants a Democrat in.

5. I thought being a Republican
was a pre-requisite for making second-rate, violent, sexist movies and TV shows.

Pretty much standard "action hero" policy, I think.

Is Clint Eastwood an exception?

8. Not really. Eastwood is also a Republican.
I think he is more centrist though.

12. Ever notice that most Hollywood conservatives
tend to be second-rate action hero movie stars? I mean, really, Arnold? Bruce Willis? The Rock? And now, Chuck Norris?

I guess it's because those kind of movies (the kind where big guns and flyin' fists are the solution to any problems) would appeal to those types.

13. Arnold, Bruce, and Dwayne 2nd rate action stars?
Arnold has been the action movie icon. Bruce revolutionized action movies with Die Hard. And The Rock is the next big thing in action movies.

14. Don't judge actors by their political stances
It's not their job, and they have a right to their opinion. If they start actively participating in what's against your stances, then oppose them. But if they state their opinion, and just that, which they have a right to, don't go and blacklist them. Isn't that what we accuse the other side of doing?

16. He has been known as a Republican for a while
Frankly, if you watched his show during its peak, most episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger" were written from a conservative viewpoint.
