Whether the candidate is good or bad doesn't matter, whether or not their ideas mean much of anything doesn't matter either huh?

Thats why the people who get elected are successful businessmen or career politicians who are pros at raising money. Thats why if all you have is a party registration and a fat bank account, you could run for anything you want.

The guys we want to run, they've got no chance without money. Money begets more money too, if you war chest is 4 figures, no one is going to give you money. If you're not winning in the polls with any money, you have no business running.

We gotta open our wallets out guys, and we gotta come to a consensus on some of these candidates in some of these states. I know that DU itself pulls miracles with the money they raise in fundraisers, but I think we should coordinate how we give, and who we want to give to. Maybe this idea could be pitched to Skinner making a list of forums of where DUers from the best represented states at DU can focus their fundraising dollars if they're willing to open their wallets.

I never gave a cent to politics until I wrote $75 to the Kerry campaign. I've given $25 to the Spitzer campaign, but he's already loaded with money, which good Democrats in the state of NY can we support coordinately?

The Democratic candidate for Governor of Texas has $8,300 in his war chest. He's guranteed to get creamed, maybe Texas DUers could see if he's worth supporting and open their wallets a little to give his campaign teeth.

Its just an idea, but also a very harsh reality. you think that non-millionaire candidates in local elections like Donna Frye in San Diego aren't going to be subsisting week to week solely on donations? Good candidate rarely have good fundraising, we could make a difference in these campaigns if we can help them get their message out.
