Grandmother sues maker of 'Grand Theft Auto'
NEW YORK - A woman upset that she bought the video game “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” for her 14-year-old grandson without knowing it contained hidden, sexually explicit scenes sued the manufacturer Wednesday on behalf of consumers nationwide.

Florence Cohen, 85, of New York, said in the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan that the game’s manufacturer, Rockstar Games, and its parent company, New York-based Take Two Interactive Software Inc., engaged in false, misleading and deceptive practices.

She sought unspecified damages on behalf of herself and all consumers nationwide, saying the company should give up its profits from the game for what amounted to false advertising, consumer deception and unfair business practices.

10. "I bought movie 'Nightmare on Elm Street' for my 14 year old," says Nanna
"I knew it contained violent, brutal death, dismemberment, and disembowelment. But I never imagined there'd be naked breasts!"

2. Grandma obviously hasn't a clue as to what is required to see this

content and you would think she would have been more worried about him playing a character that deals drugs, shoots and kills people, etc etc than a character that has sex (like every other normal adult in america).

I'm so fucking sick of the false morality surrounding sex in this country. It's truly pathetic.

3. Ah lady
when it says for adults only, it means adults only. I can just see that one, Grandma gets guilted into buying for the lovely little kid and then plays it while Granny is in the room. I bet old Grandma crapped one in her pants after seeing it.

8. She had already disregarded the rating so
I don't see how she can complain that the game was *even more inappropriate* than expected, especially if there's no evidence that her grandson accessed the hidden scene. If he did, she's still SOL, since he violated the EULA.

9. Gee if she buys the kid a Penthouse Magazine
If she buys the kid a Penthouse Magazine and the kid reads it will she sue Larry Flint?

The game is Rated M. Why is this so hard to understand?

11. So buying a game with "grand theft" in the title is ok
just so long as there are no sexual innuendos :eyes:.

12. I would never buy Grand Theft Auto for my child
It's not for kids, which is why I call on all responsible parents to not buy it for their kids. If you do make a bad decision, however, and buy it for your kid, that's your problem. You don't have the right to be made independently wealthy because you made an error in parental judgement. Nor should I, as a single adult with no kids, have to pay more money for this game to pay the costs of your bullshit lawsuit.
