Bilderberg 2005: Peak Oil, Iran, Tactical nukes on the table
http://www.onlinejournal.com/Special_Reports/060705Estulin/060705estulin.html

Reputable site? Reputable journalist? I've no idea how he got access to the minutes he's reporting. Scroll down to the section on Iran.

The world in the palm of their hands: Bilderberg 2005, Part II

By Daniel Estulin

The presence of a top US general, James L. Jones, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, and retired US Army General John M. Keane at the Bilderberg meeting in Germany suggested to us that the next stage of the conquest is about to begin.

An American neocon at an afternoon drink-fest said he was convinced that the "Iranian opposition movement" will unseat the mullahs. Nicholas Beytout, editor-in chief of the French periodical Le Figaro, exclaimed "You don't really believe that!" A tall, bold, well-dressed Swiss gentleman, believed to be Pascal Couchepin, head of the powerful Department of Home Affairs, replied reflexively that it will only succeed in having the Iranians rally behind their government. He ended by saying "You don't know Iranians."

Tempers boiled over momentarily when a French Bilderberger raising his voice told Kissinger that "an attack on Iran will escalate out of control." According to sources working for the CIA and the special unit of the US Army charged with protecting the US delegation at Rottach-Egern, both the CIA and the FBI are in open revolt against the Bush White House.

A member of the Greek Parliament asked Eival Gilady, strategic adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon "What would happen if Iran were to retaliate?" Someone pointed out that even if the United States or Israel were to show restraint in their use of tactical nuclear weapons, an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would surely not only engulf neighbour states raising the likelihood of a broader war, but also would succeed in creating a nuclear disaster through nuclear radiation spilling over a wide area. As a follow up question, someone asked, "How much of this war has to do with America doing its utmost to prevent Iran from becoming a regional power?"

A French Bilderberger wished to know if the impending attack on Iran would involve the United States and Israel working in tandem or "would it be a NATO operation?" The question was directed at NATO´s Secretary General Jaap G. de Hoop Scheffer. Another European Bilderberger wanted to know how the US was planning to cope with three wars simultaneously, referring to Iraq, Afghanistan and now Iran. The reader should be reminded that there are now 150,000 US troops deployed in Iraq who are unable to move to another theatre of operations because of effective resistance tactics.

The Israeli delegation was pressed to answer if they were prepared to use nuclear weapons against Iran. The answer was incoherent.

What is so terrifying about the Iran theatre of operations is that according to our deep sources, both of whom belong to the Bilderberg Group, there are two alternative dates set for the invasion. The earliest possible date would be the "deadest of summer" sometime in August and the other alternative is the late fall campaign. It substantially confirms the information provided by Scott Ritter, the ex-Marine turned UNSCOM weapons inspector, who stated that "George W. Bush has `signed off´ on plans to bomb Iran in June 2005." Ritter goes on to say that the June date suggests that the US and Israel are "in a state of readiness."

2. The meetings take place.
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 06:49 PM by marekjed
They're invitation-only, and the list of participants is not disclosed. They're confidential and tightly secured. There is no oversight, no reporting, and no accoutability.

Are you saying the meetings do not take place, or that they are not secret, or that when high-level government and corporation representatives meet they only do so with your best interests in mind?

I really don't know what you're saying.

On edit: I would also like to know why people would be going to such lengths to invent "conspiracy" crap out of thin air. One rule is, if the powers are keeping it under wraps, they apparently believe they have a reason to do so.

6. Mark Warner and Vernon Jordan were dems who attended
I saw a list of this years attendees on the internet somwhwere and Warner and Jordan were the only notable dems I saw in attendance.

I think the list of attendees does leak out, at least partial lists do, you can google for it I suppose.

Some of the Warner fan club around here ought to be able to tell us if he attended, wouldn't you think? Maybe he has let it be known what his impression of this soiree' was?

5. both reports I've heard of the meeting were relatively hamhanded
Frankly I'd expect more intelligent commentary, if only on account of the fact that the super-rich involved can afford to hire people to do their research for them.

Any intelligent discussion of an attack on Iran should immediately mention the Iranian Oil Bourse, which is slated to trade oil in Euros. Collusion between those who would benefit from the Euro-based oil trade (EU members) and those who would benefit from preventing it (Americans) must in some manner be colored by that tension. Supposing there is an agreement about the fact it should be prevented, it should still come up as a topic surrounding "less aggressive" policies toward Iran, e.g. sponsored rebellions or assassinations to prevent it, particularly around the effectiveness of those tactics to prevent it, mutatis mutandis for wishing to establish such.

What I truly expect is going on with the Bilderbergers is just anticompetitive carpetbagger-style collusion between business interests, some of whom are operating in politics and orchestrating kickbacks and favorable policies for business interests, such as Halliburton or whoever is getting to compete with public utilities and services under the auspices of WTO agreements. If these commentaries are accurate, then the Bilderbergers are poorly informed, which they shouldn't be. If they're not accurate, then the credibility of the entire report is in question.

I'm leaning toward all the Bilderberger reports being mostly bunk. I'd find mutual back-scratching corrupt business dealings and the like far more plausible than this "New World Order" garbage.

8. possibly, but given the level of coordination actually exhibited
I highly doubt anything like uniform global policies are really happening. Dubious dealings are probably going on, but if these guys were masters of the universe, they'd certainly be doing a better job of things than they are now at the very least by virtue of the best advisors money can buy.

9. Bilderberg is not fiction but there are conflicting views about it
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3773019.stm

And a few people that believed in the conspiracy theory about them that I dont think we want to be associated with although Im not saying it isnt true.

"My main problem is the secrecy. When so many people with so much power get together in one place I think we are owed an explanation of what is going on.

Mr Gosling seizes on a quote from Will Hutton, the British economist and a former Bilderberg delegate, who likened it to the annual WEF gathering where "the consensus established is the backdrop against which policy is made worldwide".

"One of the first places I heard about the determination of US forces to attack Iraq was from leaks that came out of the 2002 Bilderberg meeting," says Mr Gosling. "

10. I agree about secrecy
I know a lot of people are allergic to the very mention of Bilderberg. But Cheney's Energy Task Force talks behind closed doors - it's "safe" to make a big deal out of it. The secrecy stinks to high heaven and there is little reason left to trust these people.

OTOH, I really have no idea how reputable the reporter is - but it's not surprising that he's not divulging his sources.

11. this is just made up
partly cribbed from current conspiracy theorizing & right wing "New World Order" / "One World Government" garbage.

& that aside there is no way in the world that this much would get out of a Bilderberg meeting. Everything said is off the record & then at the end a booklet is produced which which summarizes what was said. Part of the one from (I think) 1973 is floating around the web somewhere. Other than that, participants don't talk about what they discussed.

Time was nobody even knew what the hell it was all about. These days it seems a lot more "exposed". Good. Harder to do evil with a spotlight on you.
