Rick Santorum needs to step into the real world and STFU
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 10:40 PM by Blue_Roses
Watching him on Hardball now, he sounds like a total idiot. First of all Chris is baiting him on saying Hillary's book, is a book "for liberals" since she is a liberal, then he goes on to say how "liberals" shouldn't use a "village" to raise their children, but a "family" should do it:crazy: What a fucking (oops, there goes my family values:eyes:)IDIOT! STEP INTO THE REAL WORLD SANITARIUM!!! In a "perfect" world we all would love to have a "perfect" family for us and for our kids, but life just doesn't work that way.

He's saying he and his wife discussed who was to stay home with the kids. Well, not all families have that luxury and even those moms who do have to put their children in daycare in order to work, do so many times over to help pay the rent. If Sanitarium wants more moms to stay home then PAY THEM. Nothing would make them happier to be able to stay home with their children and while he says it is the hardest job (which it is) then PAY THEM.

All Sanitarium is doing is getting ready for 2006 (however, I do think he is this dum and naive' also) and since he is so far behind in the polls he thinks this tripe will help with the conservative base. He says he "has friends" he has spoken to about this---BULLSHIT RICK--GO OUT IN THE REAL WORLD AND TALK TO THOSE MOMS WHO STRUGGLE TO PAY THE RENT AND FEED THEIR KIDS! The moms who work 2 jobs to pay the bills and worry that their child will get sick with no health care! Go talk to those who DO work with underprivileged children, like Boys and Girls Club, as mentors for kids needing after school supervision (kind of like a "village" helping don't you think Rick) because mom has to work in order to pay the effing rent.

ARGGGGGGGG.... Why didn't I turn the channel when I had the chance:eyes:

16. Dont know
I hope he's not some DLC shill and is a real progressive.

THe campaign for 06 on the Repig side began immediatly after the 04 election. Devastating loss but we won in more ways than most people realize. In a very short period of time we mounted an offensive and proved there are more of us than right was willing to admit.

Yeah, and voter fraud is a major factor.

Look at Pataki today!!! As far as Republicans go he's not as bad as Santorum. Politically the writing is on the wall for these guys in blue states.

Mitt Romney will follow suit soon enough. THese guys have bigger aspirations and dont want a crushing loss on thier resumes.

They may act cocky, but beneath the exterior, we've got them on te run.

The funny thing is they know it!!!!

2. July 25: After demonstrating an astounding lack of knowledge regarding
The Constitution and Supreme Court Legal Precedent, Santorum then proceeded to tell Aaron Brown that State Legislatures should have the right to criminalize birth control.

Whooopeee.

9. too late
my blood pressure has already shot up. I know this guy is a jerk and I've watched in the senate, but this really hit a nerve. I know so many women who are hard-working moms, who love their children desperately and sob when they have to leave them in a daycare in order to work so they can have food on the table and a roof over their heads. His words are tripe and someone needs to slap the shit out of him:mad:

7. Hillary is not a Liberal
I also thought it was funny when he claimed to be a fiscal hawk and touted Bush's medicare plan he voted for. It was almost in the same sentence!!!!

Mathews the moron, never challenged him. Santorum is deep in the pockets of big pharma and the insurance companies. Would have been interesting if he questioned him on tort reform and why Santorum sued a Dr for three times what he claimed the cap should be.

13. What a joke.
I live in PA and it took me almost a year to find a decent job. I only shiver to think what my life would be if I had to worry about kids too.
