Who are these people on WJ C-SPAN? Mona Sutphen
and some guy--keep missing his name--talking about some report on reconstruction after the Iraq war? She's with the Council of Foreign Relations. Both of them are engaging is so much doublespeak and nonspecific crap, it is a waste of air time for WJ. Does anyone understand exactly what they are saying, other than they are interested in how to move money around? Not once have I heard them say anything about how the Iraqi people can be engaged in the rebuilding of their nation.

1. This Stuff Is Pure Fantasy
Looks like another one of Brian Lamb's favorite "think tanks" getting some free air time to legitimize their existance...keeping the lies and misinformation flowing.

2. Sutphen is proposing G-8 Countries set up a "Trust Fund" so that when US
invades countries the Water and Electricity power can be restored quickly. :eyes: She says that this way the "infrastructure could be repaired quickly." It will also help in getting children back to school and in humanitarian restoration, she said so, that the reorganization of the role of people in the new democracy could take place faster. She also made some comment about "defining the role of women" in "tank speak." Sounds to me like they are a little late in discussion how to handle the aftermath of the US invasions. Maybe they are trying to take the heat off the Chimp's mess in Iraq and Afghanistan. Kosovo also came up when a caller blamed Clinton.

One caller did ask what happened to the missing money that was was supposed to got to restoring what we bombed in Iraq.

nations after war." A caller asked how many more wars were they planning, that rebuilding was necessary?

on edit: they didn't answer the question re: the missing millions in Iraq.

5. You don't invest
half a trillion dollars in the military to have bombs sit on the shelf.

6. Actually, for a long time, that's just what we did
Since around 1947, we've had a pumped-up "war" economy, where the threat was considered enough. We've built nuclear weapons for decades that we've never used (thank god!)The only thing worse than having a defense industry based economy with weapons "sitting on the shelf" is having a defense industry based economy with the weapons being used.
