Guess I missed the news on Hillary's CAFTA vote...here is her statement |
|
"Segments of the New York economy would benefit from this agreement, but at the end of the day I cannot support an agreement that fails to include adequate labor standards and is a step backward in the development of bipartisan support for international trade."
So the person just put in charge of the "American Dreams Initiative" at the DLC, opposes the DLC position on CAFTA...
How interesting!!!

3. She's playing games or is she "triangulating"? |
|
Remember Bill Clinton ran on a progressive populist platform in 1992, yet he helped to increase corporate power in this country.
She knows that to win the Dem Prez Primary she will have to either neuter the progressives and moderates who lean Left within the Dem Party or at least play the Potempkin Progressive to win our support.

Sounds like the focus groups she must be doing at this point said "no" to this idea. Stay tuned. I'm sure this isn't the only polling and focus-grouping being done. If she changes the way she wears her hair between now and the Primaries, even that will have been decided this way.

this woman in her behavior vs her vote has surprised me more than once. and here i had panties in a twist about her the other day.
i wish we more clearly understood her positions on things, and she didnt play so coy, leaving people suspect of her. hm. wouldnt that be nice. might even be able to support her

7. Yeah, I still have this gnawing little feeling about Hillary....just |
|
something about her that keeps me from supporting her and I can't put my finger on it. I just think we have much better choices for a candidate than Hillary.

When she doesn't take the position most here want her to...she is roundly criticized for not listening to the wishes of her constituents, and turning her back on the working man...
Then when she does do what most here want, does listen to her constituents, she is criticized for being a politician...
No thought that maybe, just maybe she agreed with you all (as her votes consistently show she does) on this issue, and voted the way she thought best!!!
