FRAMING: RUBBERSTAMP Republicans congress
Edited on Thu Jul-28-05 11:28 AM by yurbud
Since the GOP play that stupid "obstructionist" card like a broken record, Democrats should say they aren't elected to be a mindless "RUBBERSTAMP" for every proposal or nominee of Bush.

Polls on the Bolton nominee showed that the public WANTED Congress to take their advise and consent duties seriously, but inexplicably, the Democrats held back from calling their Republican colleagues Rubberstampers, which even the stupidest person who casually follows the news would be able to instantly understand.

I think maybe one Democratic congressman or senator has said this, but they ALL should since this isn't an ideological issue but a democratic process issue and the Constitution is on our side. They should say this every time the GOP starts their stupid "president deserves his nominee," "public wants this over with" blather. It should be the first words out of their mouth.

"My constituents didn't elect me to be part of a rubberstamp kangaroo Congress. That's not how democracy works."

Please send this to Howard Dean, your Congressmen, and Senators. It should take about a minute.
