I just called Hackett's campaign headquarters to make a donation.
I got to talk with two staff members - always a treat.

Anyway, I asked the person taking my credit information what the deal is about the one cent addition to the contributions - i.e. $10.01, $15.01. They said it indicated that the donor read it on a particular blog site (in this case from Kos). I then asked what the additional odd cent amount was for someone from the DU. Apparently we don't have our own odd cent amount. This made me very sad.

So, in the future, we should get our own "odd cent" amount so the candidates understand how important the DU really is.

Suggestions ...?

2. Perfect - I wish I would have thought of that while making
the contribution. Seems obvious now.

3. Have any of you heard hackett? or know anything about him?
I checked his internet blurb and heard him on ed shultz.

I dont get it. He sounded worse than any DLCer.
I am trying to figure out what the fascination is except for the D label.

Someone point me to some details about him that would show me that he stands for something liberal.

4. He is pro-choice
He is pro-social security as an insurance for the elderly.
He is pro-stem cell research- His dad has MS.
He thinks GWB is the greatest threat to our country right now.
He thinks the gov. should stay out of right-to-die decisions.
He thinks we need to get away from a oil economy and invest in alt fuels to keep America the forerunner in tech.
HE is running in the 2nd district as a Democrat!!! If he was even slightly rep, he would have walked away with the election without even trying.
He is for separation of church and state.
