Plame-Novak-WH scandal makes CNN headline news
Which means it will be repeated endlessly over the rest of the weekend. I saw it at midnight pacific time. The word "illegal" was used.

Drip, drip, drip.

1. I would like to hear Rove's name mentioned,
then I will be happy.

I hope the media jumps all over this. Not exactly holding my breath, but this story has the kind of drama that might get people's attention.

15. As someone else here mentioned...
I wonder how many people in foreign countries are being tortured because they had some contact with Plame or Wilson now that she's been outed? Thanks Rove!

3. What a pickle for FAUX..
You just know they would love to run with this story since it involves a CNNer, but they dare not, because the breadcrumbs lead straight to their fearless leader's house

Ole Roger is probably losing sleep trying to figure out a way that they can cover it without getting a horse head in his bed:)

7. Clearly, it was meant purely and simply for revenge
from middle of article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A11208-2003Sep27.html

Yesterday, a senior administration official said that before Novak's column ran, two top White House officials called at least six Washington journalists and disclosed the identity and occupation of Wilson's wife. Wilson had just revealed that the CIA had sent him to Niger last year to look into the uranium claim and that he had found no evidence to back up the charge. Wilson's account touched off a political fracas over Bush's use of intelligence as he made the case for attacking Iraq.

"Clearly, it was meant purely and simply for revenge," the senior official said of the alleged leak.

8. NOVAK quote from Washington Post
Novak said in an interview last night that the request came at the end of a conversation about Wilson's trip to Niger and his wife's role in it. "They said it's doubtful she'll ever again have a foreign assignment," he said. "They said if her name was printed, it might be difficult if she was traveling abroad, and they said they would prefer I didn't use her name. It was a very weak request. If it was put on a stronger basis, I would have considered it."

Weak? So basically they warned you that not only would you be ending her career but she would also possibly be in danger when traveling.

Weak?

11. ASHCROFT ALERT - DOJ HAS OPENED THE PRELIMINARY PROBE 09-27-03
http://hnn.us/articles/900.html#09270301

DOJ HAS OPENED THE PRELIMINARY PROBE 09-27-03

The preliminary probe has begun into the Wilson-Plame affair over at Ashcroft's Department of Justice. This was triggered automatically by the CIA's findings that a crime appears to have been committed. Now it's up to Ashcroft and Company to decide if the FBI should be called in.

With the proper amount of skepticism, Atrios said earlier this evening:

We'll see if it's a real one or a fake one.

If it seemingly disappears from Ashcroft's radar screen or if Rove and Company are quickly exonerated, that will be very suspicious.
As I said earlier, several different folks (bloggers and journalists) I've been reading have reported that journalists told them the White House was shopping this story around. That certainly sounds like there's something to it folks.

Stay tuned.

13. Did 70 operatives really get killed because of this?
Posted this on another thread.... Don't know if this a "nutso" site or not...

http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/channel.cfm?channelid=49&contentid=927
Political analyst Al Martin reveals explosive new information about US Ambassador Joseph Wilson and the Bush Cabal’s retaliation against his wife, which has, by all accounts, caused the death of more than 70 CIA assets overseas.

14. I guess it might be possble, but
we would be unlikely to ever hear about those kind of things.. They are by nature, secretive people, so when they turn up "missing", who's to know?? Their families are sworn to secrecy, and are probably well taken care of financially, so they might have a lot to lose by speaking out.

16. If the damage was that bad
If the damage was that bad, several senior white house staffers would have committed suicide already, if you get my drift. The fact that the CIA is a government unto itself does have certain advantages.
