Scattered, fragmented, gullible, powerless.
Just my observations.

Based upon my observations, all those who have predicted that the corporacultists (fascists) will kick our ass,...are right.

There is no focus, here. Andy, he had focus on a cause serving our people. Naturally, being the pure-hearted, loving human being that he is, he was attacked, even here. He stayed focused on the right of people to cast a vote for their future. He SERVED the power of people.

90% of the crap posted on this forum has NOTHING to do with advancing the interests of anyone. Instead of productive ACTIVE causes or ACTIVE education or ACTIVE thought or ACTIVE imagination or ACTIVE human compassion,...this board has become a sewage of human waste DUMPED in a forum where human potential COULD BE EXPRESSED.

What a waste of space.

Might as well hand your lives over to those who exploit you,...'cause you spend your emotions on their blackmail, every day.

Just my observations. I'm sure you'll be pissed.

Pretty big deal that we are so close to getting a Dem rep into the reddest district in scandal-ridden OH.

Or at least I think so.

11. Sounds to me like you're guiding the waves of that boat!!!!
:woohoo:

I'm working on adding waves to another front,...a common front against those who would exploit their power.

Hope you'll give in kind to WV,...Byrd is a target and there is no replacement.

I might add as an FYI to those who happen to pick this up: under the campaign finance laws in the state of WV, there is an "independent expenditure" clause that allows an individual to spend whatever s/he pleases against or for a candidate so long as there is no coordination with the candidate or a committee or a PAC.

I wonder if that f-upped provision exists outside this state. That provision practically allows any especially wealthy person to place every politician in place,...if he works a little at marketing and stuff.

4. You need to look around more
because there is lots of important information being "Actively" shared here.

You don't have any idea what most of are actively doing outside of the forum anyway. So maybe you should get off your high horse.

9. I called my Representative today....
trying to stop the vote from her on HR 5 (limiting medmal payment without any limiting of the insurance company premiums). Sadly, she is a lock step theocratic neocon, and she voted YES...but I tried.

Are you still mad at me too?:(

14. I feel this way too
I think way too many people ignore forums that tackle real issues
like race/equality,feminism,the poverty and economic justice, people are so scared of being seen as "radical" these days they forget what we are thinking is"radical" was once moderate or even seen as a little rightwing.
I think there is not enough real gritty discussion about action ,whos gonna organize OFFLINE? How does one organize offline? I see not help I myself haven't a clue where to begin. What people in my area could help. The political process as"normal" is no more.In reality a very manipulating mixing of left and right is happening before our eyes the left has its sick communitarians as in(it takes a village/nanny we will fix the safety net if you will settle down and comprimise your integrity and"radicalness" and play nice with thieves and bullies kinda shit ) And sick communitarians on the right,(faith based intitatives, community outreach by churches and corporations to get you to trust them) Between the two politics and the center they both say they reprsent is disgusting it no longer speaks to me.

15. We're on the same great path allowing ourselves to get in the way.
People act like "oil" is the beginning and end or our existence.

FUCK!!!

18. Oil is the end of
cheep consumerism and for some people that is their end..And they will not like giving it up.

It's not the end of oil I fear it is how people will react to it?

Will they respond to authoritarians like addicted slaves will they attack everything but the real cause of it,

or will the corporate thugs cull us scare us and abuse us until the remnants will do anything they want to save their own sorry lives or their sorry kids lives?

I want people to wake up,not to be violently shook up.
But as time passes I fear the violence will be the choice they make..And some people bullies are itching for a fight, one last taste of the godlike power of mowing down living human beings and feeling so damn righteous.

20. It's just silly that any rational human being believes that oil possesses,
our present or future.

Sure, the leeching scum of humanity are suckin' it up for all it's worth without regard to the rest of us. So, what else is new. A part of me wants to tell all people to just get out of their way as the greedy power-mongers eat eachother alive: avoid those diseases and keep developing remedies. Of course, we all deal with such infections whether we choose it or not.

All we can do is keep developing remedies and embrace the life we have in ourselves and in front of eachother.

16. I've done nothing
except some stuff with Planned Parenthood.
Guess that doesn't count as activism.
I'm finding it pretty difficult to divide my time on ALL issues so I have chosen one. Doesn't mean I don't like to comment and decompress on the rest though.

Planned Parenthood is a friend to every female.

Every female you serve is in this battle against exploitation,...just like you.

None of our passions will advance if we fail to unite against a corporacultist regime determined to impose its will upon us all.

19. People ARE able to post on DU and write LTTEs, call their
representatives in Congress, write emails, work in person for their county Dem party, etc, right?

That's what I do. I've been busy watching and contacting my state leg because of the special session on education bills.

As much as I like DU and think it is an incredible resource, judging the ENTIRE Democratic party in the United States and its fate and the fate of America in general by ONE website and the content therein is...well, kind of silly, to say the least.

Yep. We have proven ourselves to be quite powerful, when we choose to be.

I can't deny that!!!!

We can encourage greater focus and unity by damning distractions and division. Doncha' think?

23. I'll wish you good luck in that.
I've found encouraging people on a discussion forum this large to keep away from certain topics or things (what qualifies as a distraction varies from opinion to opinion, for instance) just results in the opposite effect.

24. Well, I'd be silly to imagine controlling the focus of others,....
,...particularly since it's hard work maintaining my own focus.

I still admire those who lead and focused our common humanity to defeat oppression,...and still live in that power,...for better or worse.

25. What jerked your chain today, dear?
Seems to me that an internet site is by defintion a place where people talk and work things out -- not a place where ACTION happens.

If action's what you want, why are you here? Hump thine ass out to the street.

I'm stuck at home with a couple of kids and think of DU as a place to learn what's happening outside my little town, see what opinions a bunch of smart people have about those events, and once in while toss in my two cents to see how it fares.

Maybe your expectations are a tad high?
