My LTTE was published in todays paper.
:bounce: The Kankakee Daily Journal. I know someone here is keeping track of all the DU activist LTTE that are published. Just to let you know, you can add one more to the list! :hi:

They also published one of my "Speak Out" phone calls about the LIBERAL MEDIA not being so Liberal. :) We're going to wake people up one of these days!

2. Good for you!
People might get tired of me saying this, but LTTE are one of the most important things that people at the grass-roots level can do. A LTTE is something that spans two constitutional protections -- freedom of speech, and freedom of the press -- and they frequently are used as a form of petitioning the government with grievences.

Thank you!

5. You got BOTH....wow...
I've struck out on all my recent ones. I think they try to keep it down to 2 letters a year per person here.

13. Here, you can write a LTTE monthly
and you can't write about the same subject more than twice a year, I think. The 'Speak Out' column is people calling the paper's 'Speak Out' line to say ANYTHING they want about ANY subject, ANONYMOUSLY, and they print what you said in the paper. :)

daughter's little neutered male, Porter. He is my first Portland grandchild. But he's seven years old now and a little slow sometimes. The dog has never growled or snapped and oh, what those children do to him!

Hope you dog doesn't have the inherited heart problems that plague this breed. I went to a puppy match and was surprised to find a doctor screening for their little hearts.

I'm a total spaniel person myself -- Cocker Spaniels in beige were my choice, but they're both gone now -- R.I.P.

Sunshine Haze of Kimra -- "Buffy" died in 1984 (age 14, weakened by heartworms, but lived a good long life)
Sweet Spice of Alpen Knoll -- "Spicy" died in 1988 (hit by truck after snowstorm -- much too soon. I still miss her... :-< )

We're child-free and pet-free now!

In peace,

Radio Lady

9. She didn't inherit Mitral Valve disease,
Thankfully! I'm sorry you lost your sweet little spaniels. It's like losing a memebr of your family, I know! I had a collie who I loved with all my heart and soul (like I do little Isabelle :loveya:) and lost her at the age of 14 of old age. I still miss her and that was 11 years ago. She was the best, most loving and smartest dog I had ever owned. *sigh* They have a way of making our lives so much better, don't they? I just love dogs!

7. I've written three LTTE and all have been printed.
Usually one letter a year. That's about how long it takes me to reach out-rage overload between triggers. I do my best writing with my best sarcasm with a bottle of tequila at hand. I was so shit faced last letter I could hardly see on the way to work the next morning. I'm about due for another one here soon. I've been telling my boss that any day I could be late or not in at all. He just gives me the look. I just grin. A good leeter is short and sweet with some edge behind it.

15. Here's what they published.
They edited a couple of sentences....and I REALLY liked them. One was about Plame being a WMD investigator and the other was daddy Bush's quote about how outing a CIA agent is treasonous. Oh well. Here's what they did publish...better than nothing :)............

Fire Rove

Karl Rove puts politics ahead of National security?

Valerie Plame was a covert CIA agent for 20 years until Karl Rove decided her husband needed to pay for writing an op-ed piece about the lies President Bush told in his State of the Union speech about the Niger yellow-cake.

For revenge, Karl Rove released Ms. Plame's name to six journalists. By doing this, he not only destroyed her career, he also committed treason.

Remember this statement? "If there is a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is and if the person has violated the law, the person will be taken care of." - George W. Bush. Sept. 2003.

Well, we now know who it is, Karl Rove. When will he be asked for his resignation?
