I'm actually with him on the gun issue. I could care less if someone has a gun as long as they're responsible about it and know that it's in their care etc. If Hackett makes it through Congress I would love to see him as a Senator someday if that's what he wants to do.

30. I thought the reason he gave made complete sense. As an attorney,
you can piss people off sometimes and they can want to come after you.

He said he has never actually carried a concealed weapon but he wanted to legally have the right to do so.

You get some unstable person pissed at you, who threatens you and your family, I can understand wanting a concealed weapon in those circumstances.

44. Well, I don't think he really took any hits in the interview. I thought
it was a total positive for him.

Bringing up the gun issue is probably a positive for swing or moderate Republican voters.

I liked his response when Tweety tried to get him to back off the Chicken Hawk comment and HE WOULDN'T yet he was still respectful. That can be a tough needle to thread and he did it beautifully.

32. What the heck was all that nonsense about the conceal weapon
that Tweety kept harping on? Hackett told him he had the permit but has never carried. Tweety couldn't let it go. Finally Tweety told Hackett that if he were elected he would need to carry in DC and then Hackett had to tell him that it was illegal to carry a weapon into the Capitol. I can't get over One Track Matthew's obsession with Hackett having a permit to carry a weapon. Tweety couldn't discuss issues? He was a "moran" with an unhealthy fixation on someone carrying a gun. What a jerk.

Can't wait to watch him tonight. Dem candidates like this are the Repubes worst nightmare.

Not only because he's cute of course, but because he's smart and a vet, and a Dem who calls them the 'chickenhawks' that they are.
