to be fair, the thumbs up example should be positioned so that we see the side view of the fist.

29. MISLEADING photo .. try this.. use thumb BUT..

tilt your hand some.. so the thumb is straight up and knuckles forward, and that would be a better comparison.. I know how much I wish it was a fuk u to the media and America.. but the width of the wrist and hand really makes me think it is the thumb. try this with you own right hand.... and hold it in the air...

When I first watched the video, my first thought was that it's his index finger. It didn't seem far enough to the right to be the middle finger. While I can see how it could be thought to be a middle finger or a pen, I'm gonna stick with my first instinct.
