The Bolton Appointment worries me...
I get the willies thinking of this guy rampaging through the UN and pushing for war in Iran. It scares me that * wants him in there SO badly. There must be a damn good reason for it, and I bet it has to do with further bloodshed.

Assuage my fears, please!

2. It's like he's a bushbot with a mission...
and nothing will stop him (or them) from completing the mission.
Shudder.

6. Once more we become a laughing stock in the eyes of the
world. If I were the representative of a country in the UN, why would I pay any attention to Bolton? He couldn't even get a Committee recommendation, much less Senate approval. If Bolton had any pride he'd tell Bush to get another boy.

3. The only ray of light I can see is if..
Is if he has one of his legendary meltdowns on camera at the UN.

8. They already know his part in the Nestle debacle. Food for oil...
tainted formula for babies... He'll have no credibility. And the UN can function without the US. Watch. Without the US on the security council, we'll be named a rogue nation.

14. Back in the 80's, the UN, for some unknown reason, changed
from sending canned formula to powdered formula to areas like Bangladesh where severe flooding and lack of potable water would insure infants would die from dysentery. (I guess Pro Life rules apply to white babies only. /sarcasm off)

Some of us always assumed that it was Nestles that was behind it. "Oh, no one knew...Big mistake...Unfortunate incident...yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah."

I still would not buy Nestles, but the incident had receded into the cobwebs of my mind until Lynne Finney came forward during the confirmation hearings and said that she worked for the government agency (USAID) and prepared a report showing this would happen. Her immediate supervisor wanted her to change her report, and became abusive threatening to fire her if she didn't. Who was that mystery man?

After over twenty years, I find out that it was Bolton.

4. I get the same feeling about John Roberts
and how Bush started 'selling' him a year ago to the Christian-right.

Scary and evil times.

5. Sorry
Keep worrying I suppose. It's about all you can do. They will do what they want because they want to. They won't stop. I know, voting, angry letters, calling people in congress, etc, etc. It won't stop them from attempting to impose their will.

Obviously Bolton is in there to impose his will on the UN. He's 2nd on the nut tree, only behind Ledeen.

Bush never chose these people, they chose him. They needed a name to get into the White House, and there is no bigger name than Bush in recent American politics.

It's good that it worries you so much. Just get used to it, because they're not going away. They're not in this for two 4 year terms. They'll be there in 06, 08, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56...

7. He just hates to lose or see any challenge to their power
There is a huge chance that this appointment is going to be a huge backfire if Bolton gets implicated in WMD fabrications and the Plame affair. He'll become the poster boy for one of the biggest f* ups ever.

It's especially dangerous for Bush if the appointment bypasses the Senate and the withheld documents point to the cover-up.

The bad feeling is, they must be very confident that they can keep everything very hidden.

9. Right now, I think the reason Bush wants Bolton in so badly is because
of some chilish power play. He just wants to be able to stick it to the Democrats to show how powerful he is.

12. I feel the same way...the boy king wants to flex his "muscles".
I think John Bolton is going to be watched like a hawk...I have a feeling he is going to find it hard for people to take him seriously.

He is a thug and a criminal and the rest of the world knows this.
