Democrat Candidates Make BIG Mistake Attacking Each Other! |
|
Polls show many Americans don't even know who these candidates are. Seems like they would want to show their best qualities first, and let Americans see how they would compare to B* and the current administration.
If I were judging candidates from that last debate, I would put Kerry at the bottom of the list, for appearing to be negative and mean.
Sharpton was right to point out that attacking each other is a mistake. It hurts the attacker and the attackee. We know B* is petty and mean, why would we want Dems to be on that same level??

1. I'm not a big fan of this either |
|
but hey let's face it, this is th way elections have worked in this country forever, the key is that when all the smoke clears that we have a single candidate to stand behind.
FWIW, these attacks in some way are good, it teaches teh election staff how to deal with the types of attacks that are going to come from Rove, it informs us, the political base of the party of what a candidate's strengths and deficiencies are and it certainly provides for lively debate within our community.
(It still drives me nuts though)

I've been saying this exact thing! We only hurt OURSELVES, and do the BFEE's work for them when we bash and flame!

2. I get really defensive with any candidate bashing. |
|
I have no problem with defending oneself in response but I prefer to see and hear candidates speak on how they will lead this country.

Ditto. It's stupid, and it can endanger the future of this country.

4. Sadly, Dr. Dean Appears Not To Have Received the Memo |
|
On Face the Nation this morning, Dean disgracefully misrepresented Clark's position and views on being a Democrat.
I was a staunch defender of Dean; no longer. I will certainly vote for him if he is our party's nominee, but I am incredibly disappointed to see his true colors as "just another politician" desperate to obtain the power and trappings of the Presidency.

What do you expect? The candidates are trying to win and the way to win is tell the people why you are great and why the other candidate isn't.

7. I don't think it has been too bad |
|
The bickering among the dems was an extremely small part of the debates, it just happens to be what people choose to talk about the most. But it wasn't that bad. And it's necessary, imo., both because the bickering is over real issues and also because we need to see how they all hold up under attack.
Plus, C-span filmed them moving through the crowd afterwards, and aside from being a very interesting scene, they ALL emphasized how they were unified in beating George Bush, that any of the candidates would be a big improvement.

It's politics, and people seem to expect it.
