The Bush Dilemma -- The Iraq Gamble Simply Cannot Fail
Iraq is not another Vietnam, when considered from the strategic perspective of American business and economics. Vietnam was a tactical gamble, not a strategic one, even in the war against communism.

From the Bush Administration point of view, as well as that of the "establishment" that includes high level Democrats as well as Republicans, the invasion and occupation of Iraq is a strategic maneuver. It is designed to secure access to oil, not only in Iraq, but also as a lynchpin in a strategy of control of the entire Persian Gulf. It is a lynchpin in a strategy that wants to contain, if not envelope Iran and its oil wealth. The establishment of military bases around the region, after an assumed victory in Iraq, is key to expansion of military access to neighboring Central Asia and the Caspian Sea. This is part of a larger strategy to weaken China and provide leverage against both China and Russia.

It all starts in Iraq. This is the strategic underpinning of the planning and execution for the Pax Americana in the 21st Century. This is the ONLY way that America can dominate the world for the next 100 years.

Not only the Bushites and the Neo-Cons, but also the John Kerry of the world have this strategic view. John Kerry, John McCain, John Warner, and even John Q. Public have been convinced that America's destiny is to rule the world, and it all begins in Iraq, right or wrong. Yes, few in the government worry about right or wrong anymore. What a matter is that might make right, and might is associated with power, and oil power society, and we gotta have control of that oil!

1. To control the oil means control over all Arab muslim nations in the....
...middle east. Boy, that's a major task considering how large an area that covers and also that it represents over 350 million people. Another solution must be found, one which is more sane.

3. Truly. But with the present misadministration in power...
what are the chances of a sane policy?

2. I don't know
if in the end control of oil will really matter. Once the world reaches Peak Oil and goes over the edge its all downhill. When industrial civilization across the planet comes to a screaching halt its over baby.

5. pig in lipstick and ribbons
only in a foxnews america could such a beast be pawned off as the belle of the ball, and only in foxnews america could such fatuous explanations for why the busheviks destroyed america as a liberal democracy (what in hell was it that made the US cultural seepage/economic power a global phenom? bullyboys with green barrets in their hair? hannibal lector's taste in virgins? sheese. maybe it was the universality of so many of the themes in movies, music and so on; maybe it was the promise of life free of weaponed thugs demanding tribute))...the bush phenomenon is not about 'containing china'....china appears to have so much money, which still measures economic power, that it seriously MAINTAINS the busheviks while they wreck the future! Someone once said 'history is written by children for idiots' looked at from any distance, but attributing virtues to the bush criminal organization ('strategic maneuvers...' bs!) the 'war' on iraq's only purpose was to fill up the newstime with selfsame bs to prevent real news from seeping into the newscasts, and alerting the goddam herd. Even if bushinc could be understandable in a sandbox setting, the fact is the news reportage plainly ignores what's going on in real time, and why....
a 'Plunge Protection Team' may be a good idea as an emergency backup system, but foxnews (the pigmedia) hasn't even told the herd what the PPT is, much less what it's doing, and how bushinc has been only winner from the PPT's antics these last 5 years

8. Got some bad news for Boobya and his pals. Too late. You lost.
Most empires bungle wars but this little venture in futility is a real whopper of miscalculation, hubris, and plain old stupidity. Right up there with Hitler's decision to attack the Soviet Union and defend Stalingrad to the last man.
