Why I ignore all police officers -- (or a lesson in anecdotal reasoning)
I am through with all police officers all across the country. That is because twice in my life, I have seen police officers harassing someone, obviously innocent, on the subway.

These two incidents therefore characterize all police departments and all police officers across the country.

4. There are two logicians on a train, see ...
but they are riding on the right side of the train and looking out only the right side windows.

They see a brown dog. A few minutes later, they see another brown dog.

The first logicians says to the other, "I guess we can conclude that all dogs are brown"!

The second logicians says, "don't be silly. We can only conclude that all dogs on the right side of the railroad tracks are brown."

10. The problem of induction by simple enumeration
The classic example (this from Bertrand Russell):

There was once upon a time a census officer who had to record the names of all householders in a certain village. The first that he questioned was called William Williams; so were the second, third, fourth ... At last he said to himself: "This is tedious; evidently they are all called William Williams, I shall put them down so and take a holiday." But he was wrong; there was just one whose name was John Jones.

6. Everyone in the world ignores the police!
leftofthedial said so. And I trust leftofthedial. leftofthedial could never make a mistake, so I won't apply any reasoning or research on my own to verify this as a fact.

5. I know what you mean
I saw the Red Sox play one game last year and they lost. I started ignoring them from that game on because I didn't want anything to do with losers.

8. Pigs Gone Wild!
To defend yourself against rogue pigs, always carry a donut in your back -pack or purse. when having an encounter with a Blue Meanie, just throw the donut as you would a stick for a fetching dog. As the oinker is being absorbed by the lard and glaze, just go about your business and have a nice day!

9. I saw one riding a bike red faced with road rage...
he came up to me screaming which way did that guy
on the bike go.

1. I had not seen a guy on a bike.

2. The cop was out of control with anger and adrenaline

3. He had a gun.

Second a cop pushed open the ajar door of a friends
art studio and fired one shot through the heart killing
him. He claimed he looked like he was holding a gun
because he was talking on the phone. The person on
the other end of the line heard no warning just a shot
and a gasp. This was in a low crime area.

The police spokes man tried to claim suicide by cop even
though nothing had been done to bring the cop to the
scene. They settled out of court and the cop got off
scott free and went to work in some other town.
