brief care. But we have one of the best HMO's around with great care and great rates, so I'm not complaining.
On edit: I've been told that for people who REALLy need the help they are great.

4. Parity is a law that requires ins companies to cover serious mental |
|
illness (like bi polar disorder or major depression or panic disorder) like they could cover any other disease.
This is in California -- not sure where this works other places. But if you had a parity diagnosis here -- they could not cap your number of visits -- have to cover it like a heart attack. Although NOW they will also use that parity diagnosis as a screening device to not cover you -- something CA I think has been trying to address.

However, a new state law takes effect next year which will force carriers to at least have some mental health parity.

7. None of the above -- HMO restricts coverage to |
|
approved providers (same with medical care) and there's no parity. HMO only pays 50% in mental health care. But they do pay for all medications.
