I feel like I am living in Bizarro World
Is this a bad nightmare or what? We are watching the disintegration of our democracy right before our eyes. The chutzpah of this Administration is beyond comprehension. They are flat out daring us to do something to stop them. The news that Bush plans to recess appoint that lying sack of shit Bolton to the U.N. is another "Bring it On". I'm beginning to think the only way out of this is for the people to openly revolt to take back their government like they do in Third World countries. Is that what this is coming down to?

3. People will NOT do it. They aren't Christian enough to stand up for
what is right and good.

Christianity is about helping the less fortunate. Our "society", especially when reagan took over but certainly wasn't a utopia beforehand, is about personal greed at the expense of others.

But we're all beyond recrimination anyway. Assuming this "peak oil" situation is correct. Live happy while you can.

11. That is what I alway say...they must be deliberately trying to
destroy our country. There is no other explanation for it. An endless war, a mounting deficit, jobs overseas, benefits for corporations, no regard for the environment, education going down the toilet, pieces of shit like Bolton at the UN...

Have these people done ONE positive thing for the people of this country? One?? I cannot think of anything.

The hate I feel for these idiots is like nothing I have felt before.

8. They fancy themselves Machiavellian Princes who understand..
control of the world's remaining oil supplies is the key to their class survival. And if it takes some dramatic 'terrorist" attacks to bring the American public around to their way of thinking....

Why else would they have such a hard on for getting bolton in place? He's the Punk who's going to bully other countries until they cave in or tell us to fuck off (and we are then "justified" in "liberating" them).

Peace in our time, anyone ?

23. But don't you think the people in the UN have a plan to deal with
Bolton. They must have had in the past a total asshole from a country come in and try to bully them. I'm hoping they make this idiot look really, really stupid which will cause him to lose his temper and even the blind here will see that he's not the man for the job. Anyone have any history of this happening in the UN?

10. Yes, more and more everyday
Open revolt is quickly becoming the only option, especially when our own party is in with these bastards. I'm so fucking sick of token resistance, wink and nod rulers.

It just looks like the only option is to tear the whole fucking thing down and start over.

13. The way I see it...
To escape the likes of Bush, you will have to leave the country.

Free elections are a thing of the past and taking to the streets would not be a good idea.

Hard choices will have to be made.

That's the kind of hacked up show they are running in DC and in the process they are completely f*cking the American people.

You remember that famous quote by Ledeen?

"Creative destruction is our middle name, both within our own society and abroad.
We tear down the old order every day, from business to science, literature, art, architecture, and cinema to politics and the law.
Our enemies have always hated this whirlwind of energy and creativity, which menaces their traditions (whatever they may be) and shames them for their inability to keep pace.

Seeing America undo traditional societies, they fear us, for they do not wish to be undone. They cannot feel secure so long as we are there, for our very existence -- our existence, not our politics -- threatens their legitimacy. They must attack us in order to survive, just as we must destroy them to advance our historic mission."

Ledeen is no smallfox, just look:
* American Enterprise Institute: Resident Scholar (1)
* Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs: Member, Board of Advisors (4)
* Coalition for Democracy in Iran: Co-founder (10)
* American Spectator: Foreign Editor (4)
* The New Republic: Rome Correspondent (1975-1977) (1)
* Washington Quarterly: Founding Editor (3)
* National Review Online: Contributing Editor (3)
* U.S. Committee for a Free Lebanon: Golden Circle Supporter (7)
* Benador Associates: Speakers bureau
* Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS): Senior Fellow (1982-86)/Senior Staff Member (1977-1981) (1)
* University of Rome, Italy: Visiting Professor of History (1975-1977) (1)
* Washington University: Instructor and Assistant Professor of History (1967-1974) (1)

I think he couldn't leave bragging alone, and gave us a clue to where we're going...

And this quote by R. Perle also tell us something:
"The greatest triumph of the Iraq war is the destruction of the evil of international law."

The first society to be undone is of course tha American society.

On edit: Typo/added last sentence

18. "There will be an armed revolt in this country"
A comment I heard about two weeks ago -- and it may surprise you who said it.

They were two men, acquaintances of mine. One could safely be called wealthy, the other very comfortable, much more so than most people. The erosion of the middle class alarms them both. They see it as a threat to our stability and democracy. They also regard Bush as out-of-control. One of them even spoke wistfully of relocating to Europe -- and this was a man who could buy and sell you and I.

It will take the money'ed people and those of influence to make it happen. I only fear by the time we get around to it our country will be decimated.
