And when Kerry tried not to make Gore's mistake, he found he wasn't in the same position. He'd been Diebolded instead, something a recount couldn't fix. Then got blasted for having enough money to recount, which he ended up not needing.

I also respect Kerry. I don't begrudge him for trying not to repeat Gore's mistake.

I was only making reference to how big a deal people made of the beard(I started seeing editorial cartoons that made him look like Jerry Garcia in a three piece suit, and was thus deeply disappointed with I saw how short and clipped the actual whiskers were.

(For the record, I've often worn beards and continue to have issues with my weight.)
