Wanna see a shock and awe attack on creationists at Free Republic?
There are freepers that are quite ardent in their support of evolution. Unfortunetaly, they are outnumbered by some real virulent hard core creationists whose ignorance is simply stunning.

Anyway, check out the mountain of evidence and links in post number 46.

7. Nope. It's quicker to IMAGINE it, and just as accurate.
SIDE BENEFIT:
"Imagining" it doesn't generate the same
heartbreaking despair for the future of all humanity
that occurs when I see it for real.

Not to mention the time I save because
MY IMAGINATION CAN EFFING SPELL!

4. When they first started
they had excellent science articles, and were very big on evolution.

Ol' JimBob was an atheist, and so were many of the original posters.

It actually made interesting reading.

But over the years...whooo boy...did it ever change!

I never go there now...yuck.

although I swear there must be some DU'ers trolling freeperville, some of them sounded downright well informed. Kinda scary to think that there are some smart freepers, so I'll just comfort myself with the hope that narby is a DU plant!

11. Make no mistake. Intelligent Design is God. A Christian God and a specific
Fundie God.
As witnessed by the opening statements in the Kansas Schoolboard hearings by the ID Proponents.

William Harris, a medical researcher and co-founder of a Kansas group called the Intelligent Design Network stated,

"They are offering an answer that may be in conflict with religious views," Harris said in opening the debate. "Part of our overall goal is to remove the bias against religion that is currently in schools. This is a scientific controversy that has powerful religious implications."

Text of complete article.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=731833

Interview with Kathy Martin, Kansas School Board member on ID.

"Martin said, "Evolution has been proven false. ID is science-based and
strong in facts."
While Martin was unable to provide examples of scientific facts that
back up Intelligent Design Theory, she did explain that ID believes in
"microevolution," but not "macroevolution."

Then she states:
"Martin said, "ID has theological implications. ID is not strictly
Christian, but it is theistic."

AND THEN:
""Of course this is a Christian agenda. We are a Christian Nation," said
Martin. "Our country is made up of Christian conservatives. We don't
often speak up but we need to stand up and let our voices be heard,"
said Martin."

Full ridiculous article here:
http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=14383121&BRD=1160&PAG=461&dept_id=190958&rfi=6

It was made pretty clear what the IDers have in mind. So don't believe any of thier lying rhetoric about the Christian Fundie God not being the designer.
As I have said thousands of times, ID is just Creationism in drag. It's just a deceptive stealth tactic.

12. boy that is a wealth of evidence for evolution.
Glad somebody is giving it to the creationists even if he is a conservative. If only he'd be willing to look at all the evidence of government complicity in 911.

13. Post 46 was fabulous
Reams of evidence, diagrams, links, etc. Enough to keep one busy for some time.

Of course a yutz (wallcrawler) rebutted with Biblical verses as "evidence" of creationism. I could just as easily spew sentences from H.G. Wells The Time Machine as evidence of time travel.

this was a good post to aid in that direction though I rarely like reading those other sites to often. One has to every now and then, one needs to always know the other's mindsets if one hopes to find victory...

Shot down, however you need to know, that the Fundies are just rewriting, rewording, and rephrasing it, and will keep pushing it.

18. Well Bush has empowered idiots and this particular issue will bring
the idiots out in full force.
This will rival abortion and gay marriage as the outrage de jour.
This is going to be big.
Right now there are something like 37 states dealing with this as Bills or proposed bills.

19. It is amazing.
The article on the freepers on creationism vs. evolution is, well, crazy. They try to instill the fact that evolution is a religion, and that because it can't be proven, its a theory based on faith, which means if its based on faith its a religion, which is crazy. I read the whole thing, the huge post about the scientific data, and evidence showing that evolution does exist was very informing, its been a while since i have read so much science.

The freepers, RW nut jobs always feel as though their religion is being attacked, which it isn't. Its just being forced back some, and people are having a hissy fit that its being forced, to sit down and be quiet for a change. But what amazes me more is this...

Religion, and all the churches of the Christian Faith, do not get along with one another, and it amazes me that they want intelligent design taught in schools...because in reality its just going to open a can of worms. Because i can see it now, the teacher is a mormon, the kid in question is a baptist, the kids mom finds out the teacher is mormon and is upset that the teacher is a mormon, teaching intelligent design, and is afraid that the teacher will put some of his/her bias into the lecture. In reality, this is exaclty whats going to happen, and it amazes me the RW REligious nut jobs want this.

Whatever happened to, teach your kids church/religion/god/jesus at home. Man, what the hell. These people remind of of Kyle's mother from South Park, just pushy, overbearing people. Why do these people want their beliefs pushed/shoved upon everyone? They say they don't, but they do. Teach it at home, wehre it belongs, but on the other hand, i bet most of those people don't like talking to their kids and would rather have someone else do it for them, maybe thats why this nut jobs want intelligent design taught at school, then the parents won't have to do a damn thing to raise their kids. maybe, food for thought.

Looking at some other posts written by that freeper, I can tell we're fairly far apart on the political spectrum.

On evolution, at least, we can agree, and he's about a million times more educated on the subject. That was awesome. Kudos to him.

As for some of the other posts...
