I've tried all morning to reach the local station, according to information they do do exist.

I talked with someone or some rather in Corporate.

ALL I WANTED WAS FOR SOMEONE TO GIVE PROMOTION TO THE VETS FOR PEACE NATIONAL CONVENTION!

AIR AMERICA IS NOT AVAILABLE@!

Air America is a corporation and is probably contacted by hundreds of groups looking for promotion.

I think you would have an easier time

if you contacted a specific show. I worked in tv and the company itself just managed the money. All of the shows have their own producers,so it is much easier to do it that way. I'm assuming you want to get media attention for the convention. The event sounds awesome, I'm sure they would be interested in having you on. I personally love Randi, but you could try any show that you think would promote the event best.

10. I am sure they get alot of phone calls and everyone thinks their cause

is very important. Radio stations are very tight with their time. Using space for your cause will cost them to lose revenue.

Try calling a specific show like another poster suggested. Maybe they will mention it during their show.

Dealing with a station and advertising is really tough (they don't give anything for free no matter how great the cause).Don't focus on advertising time,focus on show air time (like having a representative on a show).Deal with the creative staff (i.e Producers), they are much more accommodating then the money men.

State Convention. I am not a very happy person right now. The Green Party gets unlimited promotion and We for the Vets get none.

Unfortunately many AAR affiliates (NOT owned by AAR) are run on auto-pilot. Many have changed call-letters over the past year thus their phone listings probably weren't updated and their current phone number is probably listed under their old call-letters (and there's no way an operator will know it).

Air America's corporate and studios are in New York. They have a website that I've gotten quick responses to questions from, and I'll bet there's a Producer there who would be interested in someone to speak on your topic.

20. That Station Is A Problem Child

Lots of techincal data, but at the bottom is corporate owner info. The company that operates the station is based out of Laredo...BMP 100.5 FM, LP, and sounds like a very shoe string operation at best. Also looks like the ownership has been shaken up a bit over the recent years.

Might be something some deep-pocketed Texan DU'ers and others might be interested in investing in...probably could be bought for a bargain.

They ran Bush ads before the theft in November!
Ads for Republican candidates.
Ads for RW business that had giant Bush signs up.
Homeland security PSAs
& other really annoying rightwing PSAs-

They cut off AAR News during Morning Sedition in favor of their own RW news rehash.
That's why I stream & avoid the local station.

Perhaps you should contact the media people listed on the veterans for peace website? They can tell you who they contacted.

"GIVE PROMOTION" for an event is a lot easier said than done, no matter how worthy. For one thing, it doesn't happen overnight (which is literally what you are asking for, as the convention starts tomorrow)
