This was on the front page of Tuesday's Washington Post. This NIE (National Intelligence Estimate) finding on Iran needs to be kept ready to rebut the rabid claims of key US neocons and some Israeli politicians that Iran will have a nuclear bomb very soon unless they are stopped. Note the wording in the article - the best estimates are that at least 10 years are required for Iran to be able to acquire enough of a key component to be able to build a nuclear bomb.

The NIE is the best estimate available, and it says Iran is at least 10 years from nuclear bomb capability. So when the Bush administration tries to spread fear about an imminent nuclear attack from Iran, THEY ARE LYING, just as they lied about Iraq, and we MUST make that crystal clear to all Americans with any sense left.

All three are important to understanding what it happening. The first is on the TRUTH - the NIE (National intelligence estimate) about Iranian nuclear capability and its conclusion is that they are AT LEAST 10 YEARS AWAY FROM A BOMB.

The second is the statement from a Bush front organnization which attempts to undermine the NIE report and says we really need to pay a lot of attention to what Iranian "dissidents" say. Remember how useful Chalabi was?

And the third is an excellent and very scary article from Ray McGovern, who emphasizes how we must push against the misrepresentation of the truth about Iran by Cheney and others. Bolton has long been a m ember of this gang and I believe it's the main reason they want him in the UN now - he's there to assure that the criminal policies of the Bushies are not stopped.
