3. any hope of an arrest? |

Probably not with the neocon lockdown on all 3 executive branches.
Heck, even if prosecuted he could just appeal until he hits a Federalist Society judge.

6. Preparing to Position Someone Else for the Succession? |

The timing is interesting, since the Valerie Plame investigation could lead to the impeachment and removal of Bush** and Cheney Hastert would be next in line.
Could this be an indication that the stuff that Fizgerald has on Bush/Cheney is Really, Really Bad?

But if Hasert does get to the presidency wouldn't he be looked into as well for this investigation? And wouldn't this be a crime?

14. Despicable. But why did Vanity Fair break the story? |
|
They broke Deep Throat's identity, too, did they not?
A strange place for such political news...

16. Could be that the "political" press (aka the msm)... |
|
are so busy kowtowing to the shrubbery that magazines like Vanity Fair can, with a little bit of actual reporting, break stories that would otherwise be the purview of the NYT or WaPo or CBS News, or whatever.
Does VF have a WH correspondent whose credentials they can threaten to pull? How do you browbeat someone who isn't afraid of you?

21. I think it would be cool if Vanity Fair |
|
also had a political magazine branched off. I would buy it. They seem to be doing a lot of great reporting. I've never read the mag before (have heard of it of course).

What are they hiding indeed? Could Hassert have been involved in everything since the beginning? How did he get to be in his position today? I found this really damning: <The targets reportedly discussed giving Hastert tens of thousands of dollars in surreptitious payments in exchange for political favors and information. “The Dickersons,” says one official familiar with the case, “are just the tip of the iceberg.”>
And just tip of the iceberg! Wow. I hope they uncover whatever happens. I know I'm interested. Wow, paying him big cash for a vote. Simply amazing.

and any echoes from M$M!?! Actually the only god Repukes bow before is BAAL! And to think RW Xtians think this a good thing (see Prosperity Gospel) and the right to life (just so-long as it is a blasto, just a few hundreds of cell divions). Love the pre-war poster: Too bad the Irakis aren't all fetuses (lots of cell divisions, viable no)!
