If Hackett returns to Iraq as he mentioned on Al's show today... |
|
Should we be worried for his safety?
Yes, I know, he's just one soldier out of many. But do you wonder if he might be a prime target for "friendly" fire? A little bit of *FEE retribution? I sure as hell hope not. But we live in surreal times, remember. And he seems like one of those good souls we need more of in the political arena, it would be a shame if he too became cannon fodder.
And then I wonder: this is a corrupt, criminal war, why even go back???
I dunno...

1. I have a very bad feeling if he goes back... |
|
He should stay and run again against the witch in 2006. I put nothing past the vengeful BUSHBOTS.

3. Why he will go back to support the Occupation is ... |
|
an excellent question. Couldn't he do more good by running for the Senate?

5. He said he respects the office of the president, |
|
not its current resident, and will go because his country needs him. One must honor his commitment to duty, if not misplaced valor.

If he's anywhere near as smart as we all think he is, he'd better go nowhere near Iraq-they'll have him killed for sure. I hope he, unlike nearly all dems in positions of power, can recognize the evil and total dedication of the junta. We need bright, eloquent leadership material right here, not as cannon fodder or revenge targets in Iraq.

7. He's needed more here than there! He should realize that. |
|
We wouldn't be fighting in Iraq if it wasn't for the handful of powerful people in Washington voting for it. Hackett has a real shot at being one of them and stopping it.

8. I thought about that as soon as I heard him say |
|
he'd go back. (It was one of the first things I heard him say) He is SUCH a stand up guy, he probaby doesn't recognize the sharks in the water. I hope his buddies watch out for him REAL good.
