Writers Group Won't Give Judith Miller an Award After All
NEW YORK The board of The American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) has voted unanimously to reverse an earlier decision to give its annual Conscience in Media award to jailed New York Times reporter Judith Miller, E&P has learned.

The group's First Amendment committee had narrowly voted to give Miller the prize for her dedication to protecting sources, but the full board has now voted to overturn that decision, based on its opinion that her entire career, and even her current actions in the Plame/CIA leak case, cast doubt on her credentials for this award.

1. This is probably the right call
While I do generally favor protecting Judith Miller's journalistic rights, that certainly doesn't extend to giving her an award; when you factor in her misstatements leading up to the Iraq war, she might be a better candidate some negative award.

2. Propagandist is probably a better term
than an actual journalist!

but Judy is a total whore and should rot in jail--

That Awful Power: How Judy Miller Screwed Us All
By James Moore
Source: The Huffington Post

Okay. I couldn't stand it any longer. When I saw the quote today from a New York Times spokesperson about Judy Miller, I blew coffee through my nose. "Judy is an intrepid, principled, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who has provided our readers with thorough and comprehensive reporting throughout her career." I am submitting the lengthy piece below to prove precisely otherwise. I don't care how many awards Judy Miller has, she is a miserable failure who has irreparably harmed her country with bad journalism and by allowing her own personal beliefs to infect her reportage. Below is but one example. This is an edited excerpt from a book I wrote, which no one ever read, called "Bush's War for Re-election." And I am not trying to sell a damn book. I don't care if anyone ever buys it. But I do want people to know what this woman did:

3. I think she has been
rewarded with her jail sentence. I hope that Fitzgerald charges her with criminal contempt of court, so that she faces a prison reward.
