Staff Sgt. James D. McNaughton, 27, of Middle Village, N.Y.
Tuesday was my birthday. I found it hard to celebrate in anyway, knowing that a U.S. Soldier died in Iraq because of morons fucked up war.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of one soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Staff Sgt. James D. McNaughton, 27, of Middle Village, N.Y., died August 2 in Baghdad, Iraq, where he was struck by sniper fire while he was in a guard tower. McNaughton was assigned to the Army Reserve's 306th Military Police Battalion, 800th Military Police Brigade, Uniondale, N.Y.

1. We used to live in Middle Village
My daughter is a year younger than Sgt. McNaughton. I don't recognize his name, but it is possible my daughter may have gone to school with him when they were young. She was almost 9 when we moved. I cannot tell without knowing a street address or how long the family lived in that area.

Very, very sad.
