Will this war still be going on when the next Democrat is sworn in...?
as President? And what will he do about it? Will he continue the Bush mistake because we "must win" the war? We cannot leave Iraq to fend for itself? Or will he have a plan that is 180 degrees opposite the bush Doctrine? Or do we simply accept the war on terror as inevitable for the rest of our lives because some bozo monkey from Texas lied us into a war? Will someone stand up and tell the truth?

4. Yeah, it's hard for women to see 'he' as a generic
but that's the way it is I guess...

8. Because there are no indications that Barbara Boxer is running
and Jennifer Granholm is not eligible. The only other prominent Democratic woman is Hillary Clinton who's neo-liberal ideology and incorrect voting record are extremely relevant to this thread.

2. My prediction
And I hope to God I'm wrong...

The next Democratic president will pull us out of Iraq and raise taxes on the wealthy to make up some of the deficit. Then, the rwers will start screaming that a Democrat "lost the war" that could have been won and "raised my taxes." Then, we're back to 1994.

7. I think you are right on with your prediction
Scary as it sounds I am pretty sure that is what will have to happen.

10. I thought we learned something
I thought we learned something from Viet Nam, but it appears the 'Murikan people never learn. They just repeat the buzz words they hear most often.

12. I hope you're wrong, too, but only about...
...the spin on his or her accomplishments leading to a backlash. I'm hoping that people wake up enough to stop swallowing the Republican message but I fear it'll take another Great Depression. We certainly have our pre-Great Depression President Hoover in George Bush, and other conditions for a repeat of that history seem to be ripe, as well.

If GOD himself came down and said not to follow gb evil ways-- he still would have faithful followers thats how brain washed his followers are!

There like a bush clut waiting for the space ship to take them to another place. That sadly will never come b/c all he gives them are lies

9. The only way we will win is with an Anti-War candidate. Kerry could have
won to big to steal if he had come out strongly against the war.
WE can not be fooled by this 'stay the course' BS. We heard the same shit in Viet Nam FOR YEARS. The ReThug's plan is to begin drawing down our troops in 06. Then after stealing the elections again build the troops back up again. Then draw them down in 08. The drum beet is and will be that we have to pacify Iraq before we leave.

Don't forget they have been fighting for 2,000 years.

In answer to your question 'Will this war still be going on?'
The only answer is 'Yes' as long as the current DEATH CULT is in control.

11. It's all about the oil
Iraq is the second largest reserve of oil, that is the only reason we are there. We will never leave.

18. And oil output is below pre-invasion levels. How is it working?
The PNAC went there for oil. Their plan is as Fucked up as their 'thinking' on everything else. We went for oil. We are not getting the oil.
OK lets leave.

13. If we're talking '08, yes it will still be going on.
And given some of the names, especially Hillary's, being tossed around, there's a real good chance that the next Democratic president will continue this illegal, immoral war. After all, whoever it is certainly can't appear to be "soft on terror":eyes: Besides, they will have to answer to their corporate masters, and all of those folks are saying "steal the oil, steal that sweet Iraqi crude"

Hopefully I'm wrong, but somehow I doubt it.
