Is there something about Katherine Harris that we don't know?
Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 02:47 PM by Dawgs
She seems to fit the neo-con Bush apologist perfectly. Could it be that she really is crazy, and so bad that the Rove's are running away from her? Is there anyway we could find out?

1. She can't win!
Polls have her running very low against Nelson. Unfortunately, the state Republicans love her, so she's a prohibitive primary favorite.

Talk about a best case scenario for us!

4. Please please let her win the Republican nomination!
That would be sooooo wonderful. Provided they don't tinker with the machines in the general election of course.

13. So re-register
I don't think Nelson will have a primary opponent, so is there a legal impediment to changing registration to R?

11. not really
Only registered republicans can vote in a republican primary. One could switch affiliations and re-register as a republican before "book closing" which is 30 days before an election (give or take, I think it is 30).

But someone who did that couldn't vote in the Democratic primary. Bill Nelson won't have a serious primary challenger, but we have a race for the gubernatorial nomination. So far we have at least three candidates. Jim Davis, a congressman from the Tampa area, Scott Maddox, former mayor of Tallahassee and chair of the Florida Democratic party, and Rod Smith, a state senator from the Gainesville area.

8. Katherine Harris 'Oops' On Terror
Katherine Harris 'Oops' On Terror

WASHINGTON, August 5, 2004

........................

Harris serves on the House Financial Services Committee and the International Relations Committee, which often gets briefed on terrorism. She does not serve on the House Intelligence Committee.

(AP) Republican Rep. Katherine Harris said Wednesday she regrets making the claim that a plot existed to blow up the power grid in Carmel, Ind., a notion city officials disputed.

But the Florida lawmaker stands by her statement that based on classified information, the United States has thwarted more than 100 potential terrorist attacks.

Harris, who was at the center of the political storm over the disputed 2000 presidential election, made the comments about terrorism and the plot on Monday at a rally for President Bush in Venice, Fla., and a subsequent interview with the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

She told the audience that while in the Midwest recently, the mayor of Carmel told her how a man of Middle Eastern heritage had been arrested and hundreds of pounds of explosives were found in his home.

Not as much snake blood showing in her face as Poppy, Bar, Cheney, bu$h, Rummy, etc, but there's something about her eyes...

Florida congresswoman Katherine Harris says newspapers doctored photos to distort her makeup

"Her campaign manager Jim Dornan declined to answer questions Wednesday about her radio comments.

'It is absolutely outrageous that a woman who is running for public office is being judged by her appearance instead of where she stands on the issues,' Dornan said."

You know, it could be her ugly soul we despise. And the issues.
