just had and interesting tet' a tet' .... |
|
was getting out of my car at the grocery store when a car that was passing in back of me stopped and backed up, I stopped not wanting to get hit, but the guy driving (a 7up company car) motioned for me to come over, I figured he might need direction or something, so I went a little closer and leaned down and he said " I noticed your bumper sticker(Kerry-Edwards) and wanted to say I'm glad to see there are still some intelligent people in this state(Ohio). That broke the ice and we chatted about 15-20 minutes about the idiocy of people who still vote repug. It made my day, to know we are not alone in this goddess-forsaken-state.

2. I had a similar experience last night. |

I was at a wine tasting party which was a fund raiser for multiple sclerosis. I was wearing one of my anti-* shirts and some woman asked me what it meant. I told her it was part of my I Hate Bush tee shirt collection. She was thrilled to meet another like minded person. It made an otherwise boring event very, very nice.

you know the one you give to your fellow jeep driver/owner. Well I do the same, when I see a Kerry or anti-Bushco bumper sticker. Thanks for the post.

I know how you feel. I live in a red area here in Tennessee. I still see some Kerry/Edwards signs and I hardly see those W stickers now days and same for the ribbon magnents. My town is also getting AAR which I was REALLY surprised at.

10. FreedomAngel82, where do you live? |

Are you picking up AAR out of Kentucky or are you closer to Memphis? I'd love a closer signal here on the South Cumberland....

7. It's a great feeling when something like this happens |
|
I had a similar experience last fall. I was grocery shopping, waiting for service at the deli, and an elderly man was waiting also. He had a Kerry button on and he said something like, "We've got to get rid of those bastards!" It was great to see him so determined to see Bush lose.
There are people like us everywhere, more than we probably realize.

12. as everyone else said . . . i love hearing these stories. |
|
i think it would be good for morale to post every story like this . . . when they happen. it would sure make me feel better.
also, i just discovered that one of my classmates set up a webpage for my hs class (of 1968) on classmates.com. she included a series of questions including one which asked us to identify our political leanings. i am going to go to that site and find some like-minded classmates (if i have any!) to bring into the fight . . . if they haven't already joined. there should be some good idealogical hippies left in that class!
