America move over.....there's two new superpowers on the world stage!!
Canada and Denmark are having a tiff about a disputed tiny island smack dab between Canadian territory and Greenland!!!! I say we Canucks bust a cap in their ass, with our medium-range musket!!!
Canadian soldiers planted our flag on the island a few weeks ago. The Danes say it's not Canada's island to claim, and that the Danish flag had been planted there, but...wait for it...it blew down.:spray:

Check it out....

1. Ya see... democratic societies don't do the terrorism thingy...
nor do they find things worth going to violence over... well, almost all of them don't... but if it comes down to it, I am sure we will sell whatever Canada needs to take that island.... per usual.

15. I suspect that "we" (Bush**co) will be backing Denmark
if it comes to that.

After all, for some unfathomable reason, the Danes are one of our very few allies in Quagmire II: The Sequel, whereas obviously the Canadians are not.

And if, as hinted below, the Danes are in cahoots with international oil co.'s looking to use the shipping lane, that would just about nail it down for Bush**co to back Denmark.

"Something is rotten..."

Let's hear it for diplomacy, which I imagine is how this tiff will be resolved. Imagine! Civilized behavior between two nations!

9. "Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage..."
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea;
Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage
And make a Northwest Passage to the sea.

Westward from the Davis Strait 'tis there 'twas said to lie
The sea route to the Orient for which so many died;
Seeking gold and glory, leaving weathered, broken bones
And a long-forgotten lonely cairn of stones.

Three centuries thereafter, I take passage overland
In the footsteps of brave Kelso, where his "sea of flowers" began
Watching cities rise before me, then behind me sink again
This tardiest explorer, driving hard across the plain.

And through the night, behind the wheel, the mileage clicking west
I think upon Mackenzie, David Thompson and the rest
Who cracked the mountain ramparts and did show a path for me
To race the roaring Fraser to the sea.

How then am I so different from the first men through this way?
Like them, I left a settled life, I threw it all away.
To seek a Northwest Passage at the call of many men
To find there but the road back home again.

Is there a single Canadian who can hear "Northwest Passage" without getting verklempt?

Thank you, Stan Rogers.

11. This is no laughing matter
This is a very important issue to Canada’s national sovereignty. If Canada owns the island that means that Canada owns the northern shipping route, this would mean that; the Native Canadian would have special fishing rights to the waters, Canada would be able to set shipping tariffs and make a helluva lot of money and Canada would have control over how foreign (especially American) military assets are stationed and moved throughout the world (this would give Canada greater control over how ship based radar sites for America’s silly “missile shield” are deployed).

If the Danes (working with major international oil and shipping companies) own the island than the northern shipping route is deemed international waters; anyone can fish, anyone can transfer navy assets, anyone can ship anything out of Canadian control and the north will be at greater risk of an oil spill.

It is immensely important that Canada have control over that little island.

12. Very easily settled
draw a line down the middle of it...lengthwise. One side is Canada, the other Denmark.

Any money made from oil and gas and traffic tickets..split it between the two.

Then Denmark can join Canada, or Canada could join the EU, since they now share a common border.

Then share a case of beer as well.

Done.
