i don't think novak "walked" off the set
in that i don't think it was his choice. i think he was ORDERED off the set.

i think he came in drunk, the producer complained but he insisted he was fine to go on the air, the producer reluctantly agreed, but as soon as he said "bu**sh**" on the air, the producer screamed into his earpiece, "get the f*ck off my stage RIGHT NOW!"

i think they yanked him before he embarassed cnn (and himself) even more.

3. I don't think so. The would have gone to commercial and then took

6. He was quite abrasive today
and definitely looked intoxicated. It also could be a cover to get him off the set before the Plame topic came up, neither Carville nor the host (can't think of his name right now) looked very surprised when he left, and although I would expect them to continue the discussion they were having (they are professionals), they never even hesitated when he got up and walked away.

Whatever, Novak is a douchebag!

7. I agree. The glance past the moderator and the way that Carville
didn't miss a beat. It's as if they were almost expecting it. (No tin foil, but I'd bet he smelled of booze).

14. that's what i picked up on. the others heard the same order.
and the drunk part is why they ordered him OFF the stage instead of just cutting his mike. i think the figured he couldn't control himself, he couldn't just sit there and not talk, they just didn't trust him on the air in his condition. they had to give him the hook.

19. If he had done it on his own, JC would have made a smart ass comment
about it.

He couldn't have resisted.

If Bob was pissed and there was cue cards or the producer waving him off, there air would have been too serious to be a smart ass.

I couldn't quite understand what he said - something about showing the rightwingers...

17. mostly saying novak had to show the wsj editorial board he had backbone.
other threads here have a 'transcript', but that's the comment that appeared to really set him off.

16. Randi Rhodes had a good take on it
Actually, Jenny - someone that works with her, that he did it on purpose so he wouldn't have to take about treasongate.

Makes sense to me! He was told that the topic would come up.

20. Yes, and he had mixed the booze with pills too...
a volatile mix that explains his erratic behavior. Thank god CNN security confiscated the large hunting knife he usually carries in his briefcase. That degenerate fucker should be locked up. He's a danger to society.

It makes sense now "let it go" was directed at the producer
in the earpiece ..

I was about to offer the same observation, but you beat me to it -- "Just let it go" didn't make any sense to me otherwise, like Bush's "let me finish" during the debates.

26. I watched the show and he certainly walked off the set
even said that he was going to walk off. And if you did not watch the Daily Show, perhaps someone can put a link since that clip was shown over and over again, to the sheer delight of Jon Stewart.

Or watch a rerun tomorrow 8:00 pm Eastern and Pacific
