We need to offer a sharp contrast to the Republicans...
And we define what we stand for - not let the Repubs define us. If the Repubs disagree with us, let them speak up and let the voters decide. It's time to draw a sharp distinction between the two Parties. They are opposite of everything we stand for and value.

For example, we are for protecting Social Security, not trying to destroy it like the Republicans. For example, we are for a strong defense, not tearing it down like the Republicans are doing. We are for providing a strong safety net for our most needy citizens, not jerking it from under them. We are for everyone paying their fair share of taxes, especially during a war, and not giving away the Treasury to the wealthiest in our country. We are for keeping our jobs, even our lowest paid jobs, in this country - rather than sending them to Central America or China. We are for a sane immigration policy, that addresses illegal immigration, rather than turning our backs and pretending there is no problem...

1. I agree in theory, but like the old saying goes "Trying to organize
democrats is like trying to herd cats" (thank you Molly Ivins). Maybe the democrats need to "drink the Kool Aid" except ours will be made of reason, fairness, mercy and responsibility. We need to speak as one and stop letting the repukes trick us into fighting with each other!!!:dem:

6. Screw the Kool Aid!! It's kegger time!!!
We'll show the people of this country how much fun it is to be a democrat.

Seriously...I do agree with you. We need to speak up for ourselves and let the people know what we are all about. Let's play offense for awhile instead of always arguing the lies the rethugs throw out there.

3. I hope they do that...
We need to start defining ourselves, but what i think is more important is to get people energized and interested in the political scope of our country. Most of the people that i talk with who are repubs, they don't watch, or listen to any news programs, they just vote on gut, or what their church tells them to vote. You have to get people interested. If we spend our time getting a clear message, and not enough time getting people interested, we will be on stage, in an empty theater, again...just like last year, with the debates, most people didn't watch...we need to instill a sense of urgency, and a clear message also. I'm not down playing the clear message angle, i'm just saying, you also have to instill the energy/drive for politics....:) Good post by the way...:P

7. Time to rediscover class war.
Of course, that might piss off corporate donors, so I'm not holding my breath.
