Freepers: if Arnold wins Calif. - Dems will lose Calif.
On the Freeper site - they're raving that all Repubs should go out and vote for musclehead so they can take California. They argue that if they take California - they will win the Presidency.

"JOIN ARNOLD = STOP HILLARY
'GOP Disunity = President HILLARY CLINTON'

If the Democrats hold the Governorship, HILLARY is running for President

The Dems know that a Republican California means they lose California in the Presidential race. But if they hold California with either Davis or Bustamante and President BUSH's approval stays below 50% where it is, they are likely to retake the Presidency. To the CLINTONS that means HILLARY must run this time."

2. NO we won't
even if Arnold wins he will so severely suck
we will get even more votes by november 2004.

Arnold has no clue, he truly is a puppet and will
only win because of star power and novelty.

He has no basis to lead. He hasn't even directed a
movie as far as I know. His big business venture,
Planet Hollywood, was a flop.

3. Arnold could mean 2-3 % extra for Bush
which would leave him about 15 % behind whoever the Democratic nominee is.

6. Bush is not popular in Calif. at all
I'm not sure what effect Arnold will have. But I certainly don't want him to win. BTW, it's hysterical how the freepers tie Hillary to everything. I actually feel sorry for them.

Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 07:42 PM by SoCalDem
all they need is the facade of a republican "revolution" to create the linkage to a Bush victory.. We all know it would be phony, but they don't care.. Does anyone with half a brain really believe that Perdue and Chamblis really "won"???

These freaks play for keeps, and they know how to "win"..

23. I can't buy into this BBV conspiracy
Too many ways for it to fail and the secrecy required to make it work is unsupportable.

24. Do you actually SEE your vote being counted???
No one does.. The stage is being set for , another "close" election.. Arnold is necessary as the excuse.. .."See, California IS becoming conbservative, they threw out a Democrat and ELECTED a republican (Ahhhnold)".. It's their cover..

How they actually do it, remains to be seen.. Does anyone really believe that * won Florida??

26. BBV is a reality

You saying you don't buy into it, is like saying you don't "buy into the whole earth is round thing."

It's a proven fact.

I fail to see much difference between the flat Earthers insistance and the BBV religion.

5. Guess what
The "Dems" may know that a Republican California means they lose Californina in the Presidential race; but only a small portion of the "Dems" will vote to retain Davis.

Sorry to have to say it, but in my opinion, A.S. will be elected.

9. I think he's going to win, too
but having a Republican governor in '92 and '96 didn't keep Clinton from winning Calif.

11. I think it's always been clear that
Arnie the Termite-Eater will win (sheeple love celebrities, white men, and machismo), but will that put CA in the repug camp in the presidential election? It depends on how far Arnie will go to rig things. If the voting were fair, the Dem should win. But will it be fair? I think Arnie will go along with a lot of the dirty tricks, partly because he's stupid and won't know what's going on, partly because he wants to please the powerful people running the repug party, and partly because he will be offered something. So, in the end, it might be close, and yes, I do believe the repugs might win CA. Raygun did.

12. The question is - would a Kennedy wife go along with dirty tricks?
Of course, if she's been able to put up with him so far who knows.

JFK and RFK must be turning over in their graves at this whole musclehead thing.

8. If Arnold Wins, Bush Gets California
I have guessed for a long time that if Arnold wins, Bush will suddenly pass "emergency funding" legislation for Calfornia, for economic relief. It demonizes Davis, makes Arnold look like a savior, and makes Bush look like he cares....

Ponder that one...

I think Calif.'s problems go well beyond that. I doubt Arnold will be even a decent governor.

16. At least SOME of them have scruples - another article
"For Republicans however this election is about more than which Republican we should vote for. This election is more about the party itself; will we continue to be a party of principle, directed by the philosophy of Lincoln and Reagan or have we laid our principles aside? Do we want to win so badly that it doesn’t matter how or who, just so the next governor has an R behind his name?"

Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 07:46 PM by TroubleMan
I've got to get on my soapbox for this:

If aahnold wins, they WILL try to steal the electoral vote in California. The stole TENS OF THOUSANDS of votes in Florida. Gore really should have won by at least 60,000 votes in Florida.

They can do the same in Cali.

Also, don't be fooled by ahhhnolds "moderate" stances. I GUARANTEE YOU that if he's elected, his adminstration will be one of the most conservative neo-con adminstrations in the country. That's because he will be just a dumb figurehead like whistle ass, and the people behind him will run the show. Just like whistle ass, ahhnoold will have no say in his own administration. He will be told what to do by "handlers."

If ahhnold wins, the first thing they will work on is rigging the presidential election, and the press will help cover it up for them.

DON'T BE FOOLED

This has been their strategy from day one. But if Davis would resign now, it all could be avoded.

25. WRONG!! THe recall goes on anyway.
Please stop posting this it is entirely incorrect. Once the signatures were gathered the RECALL GOES on regardless of whether Davis resigns and Davis has done NOTHING WORTHY of resignation.

28. and... it would just make it easier for them the next time..
all they would need is the "threat" of a recall, and people would resign rather than be smeared,,

Davis should pull out all the stops, and IF Ahhhnold squeaks by, they should start immediate recall.. At this point who gives a rats ass about the deficit.. On principle, this is WRONG..

People should think of how they would feel if they were hired by a company and were doing the job they were hired to do, and all of a sudden, someone slips the boss a few bills, and gets YOUR job..

30. The fact is the the GOP controls the Statehouse in NY, TX, and FL
Three key states in the election, and the last thing we don't need is to have the GOP control California as well.

There is more at stake in California than our personal likes or dislikes about Gray Davis. The recall must be defeated!

31. Au contraire!
Read an article in Time a couple months ago, saying the White House was going to lay low in the recall thing, since they saw a Davis-run California as a surer ticket to a Bush victory in '04, what with Davis being so unpopular.

Whoever wins California will inherit a true mess. I am almost hoping that Arnold wins. He will be a total laughing stock and ruin the GOP in that state for decades.

Moral of the story to the freepers: Be careful what you wish for. You may just get it.

Hmmm... I can't believe I'm semi-hoping Arnold wins.
