New poll - Iraq approval rating 38%! And dropping!!!
The last sentence may explain a lot. Apparently people don't understand what he's doing. As with most people, rather than look stupid they just put a grin on their face and say they support the idiot because they can't figure out what else to do.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050805/ap_on_el_pr/bush_ap_ipsos_poll;_ylt=AsMTTooANZEI5hEhlfwveaGs0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA2Z2szazkxBHNlYwN0bQ--

"Bush's overall job approval was at 42 percent, with 55 percent disapproving. That's about where Bush's approval has been all summer but slightly lower than at the beginning of the year.

The portion of people who consider Bush honest has dropped slightly from January, when 53 percent described him that way while 45 percent did not. Now, people are just about evenly split on that issue — with 48 percent saying he's honest and 50 percent saying he's not.

The drop in the number of people who see Bush as honest was strongest among middle-aged Americans as well as suburban women, a key voting group in the 2004 election. A further erosion of trust could make it tougher for Bush to win support for his policies in Congress and internationally.

"The reason that trust is so important has to do with the long-standing belief that you could trust him, even if you don't always agree with him and don't understand what he's doing," said Bruce Buchanan, a political scientist at the University of Texas. "The honesty dip is partly caused by a loss of faith in his credibility on Iraq.""

The last sentence may explain a lot. Apparently people don't understand what he's doing. As with most people, rather than look stupid they just put a grin on their face and say they support the idiot because they can't figure out what else to do.

1. It's because Bush and Cheney are cyborgs from the future...
The seemingly senseless acts they do now are actually designed to prevent a great cataclysm in the future and save mankind.

Or else, it is to pave the way for a race of androids to dominate the world...

4. I can't believe even 38% still "support" what he's doing in Iraq...
...and that 42% still support his overall job performance. Both numbers should be in the teens by now. What are these people "thinking"? Oh, yeah--this:

"He's a man of character," said Cheryl Cheyney, a school bus driver from Cumming, Ga., and a Republican. "He's very honest in the things he says. I agree with his belief system, the way he believes in God and is not afraid to show it. That's very important to me."

How can someone who is techincally a human being and therefore with presumbaly a human's mental capacity end up being this dumb???

How has Bush ever in his life shown himself to be a "man of character"? By draft dodging? By drunk driving? By failing at everything he's ever tried? By not being able to earn anything on his own in his life? And when has he ever told the truth about anything? His National Guard Service? The reasons for going to Iraq? How he'll fire anyone who was involved in a specific case of outing a CIA operative?

"Belief system"? Pretty fancy way for a bus driver from some Georgia backwater to say "values," but if that kind of stuff is really all that important to someone, how can they side with the Republicans, who are--let's face it--THE official party of sexual immorality and degeneracy in America. Which one of these Republican holy rollers doesn't turn out to be some secret pervert trolling the internet for kinky sex? But then, the article says this person is a Republican, too, so I guess that is her idea of "values."

Just like 1984. The govt. is doing all the bombings of their own citizens themselves. Al Qaeda is Emmanuel Goldstein. etc.
