John Stewart on Robert Novak was the absolute highlight
of 2005 for me thus far. Here's the link if you haven't sen it yet.crooks and liars
Who amongst us did not dance in their hearts when Jon Cabbage Patched his way into an "its ya burfday". I laughed, I cried, I felt comforted like when a huge boil is removed from the ass of humanity.
May your memories haunt you until you draw your final breath Bob. You've done much to hurt many.
crooks and liars

1. That was frickin' awesome
and the "it wasn't a miracle" rant was one the best ever. The whole crew was on a roll for that show!

13. Loved it..."miracle" is SO overused...
This is why I can't stand to listen to mainstream news.
This crap, and so called journalists trying to get people to "emote" for the cameras.
"Oh Mrs _____, how did you FEEL when they found the body of your child"
Notice how they will not ask the question just once, but will turn it and ask another way...Disgusting.

I used to enjoy the news...now it is intolerable.

I saw a program tonight about Prodigious Savants (in my youth the condition was commonly referred to as "Idiot Savant") and one girl in particular who is retarded and autistic but is a concert class pianist. Every word out of the mothers mouth was god this and god that. Its like they invoke god when circumstances become complex, rather than put some thought into it.

3. You are abit LATE to this particular party...but well said.
That was an AMAZINGLY good episode of TDS!

"It was better than 'CATS'; I'm going to see it again and again!"

Personally, my favorite moment:
"Well, that's where you and I differ."
My sweetie did a full 2 1/2 Spit-take with a half-choke!

18. It's from the "Dukes of Hazzard" segment.
An NAACP rep says he doesn't like the movie because of the confederate flag. At one point Colbert says "It's just a lot of fun," and the NAACP rep says "Well, lynching was fun too." And Colbert retorts "Well, that's where you and I differ." Damn.

24. You really need to scroll down, way down
until you can find it. No, not the Duke of Hazards - even though was great, too, but the actual Jon's sheer delight.

17. I didn't enjoy picking on the NAACP guy.
But it IS comedy, and that "where you and I differ" line was CLASSIC. I can't wait for "The Colbert Report" (it's French, bitch) to start airing. It's supposed to follow TDS. Don't know when though.

20. If you have it on TIVO, try watching that segment with the sound off.
Watch the NAACP spokesman's expressions; especially the TOP of his face.
He has his mouth under control, but his eyebrows break away at times.

He's trying REALLY hard not to laugh!
I'll bet you a nickel that TDS had to reshoot a few questions because he cracked up.

12. I almost fell out of my chair
watching Jon and his Cabbage Patching in response to Novak's making an ass out of himself.

It was the best thing I've seen in a long time....ohhh, it was freakin' PRICELESS!

And I realized, I need to watch The Daily Show more often!

23. That was great. Can't wait for part II
When he talks about CNN terminating Novak.

And, yesterday, on CNN Inside Politics, they actually played that part.

Seems that the "thing" on the table was Who's Who that Novak claims was the source of his Plame name
