2. Yep. Garlic, holy water, wooden stake time. In fact, I think... |
|
Arlen Specter may actually be the wooden stake in Novakula's heart.
I think that Specter accusing Novak of LIBEL yesterday was a really big deal!
I have excerpts and links from Novak's libelous column and Specter's letter to the New Hampshire Union Leader (using the word 'libel') on my blog (link is under the burning Bush below).
I have to admit, I would really enjoy watching Specter (R- Suddenly concerned about mankind) take Novak down.

|
shills.
FWIW, I have advocated for stem cell research for many years, and I will say that Specter's support pre-dates his diagnosis and relates to a family matter.
My support for SCR is decidedly "tainted" using that logic, as you can clearly see in muy sig line.

I searched for, but didn't find, info on the timeline of Specter's stem cell stance.

I must say I enjoyed it immensely.
And Santorum's meltdown on the same day--marvelous!
DU should start a dedicated archive of Radical Right meltdowns, perhaps. We could share the popcorn and discuss them at the same time!

32. Couldn't happen to a nicer fella |
|
He's been slinking around the shadows for weeks now, making nary an appearance anywhere. The deals he had in place that forbade anyone from bringing up his calumny don't mean anything now that his two shows have been canceled.
So he made a brief foray in front of the cameras and could tell he was going to get skewered, so he left in a yellow huff.
It's the end for him, and although he'll pop up now and then, he'll be a very changed man: he'll be contrite and well-mannered.
Look for another meltdown, though, he's not necessarily going to go quietly into that night. We may even get treated to a rip-snorter of a sanctimonious blathering.
Seriously, though, I would be very surprised if he lives for more than a couple of years; we're dealing with high tragedy here, almost as stunning as Joe McCarthy's fall.
With luck, his greasiness, propagandizing and ultimate betrayals will reflect back on the profession of journalism: they tolerated and sanctified this rotter, knowing full well what he is and was. As a result, the entire profession's got some 'splaining to do...

6. Not so much, actually. |
|
Oh, I watched Jon Stewart riff on Novakula and laughed; I've never liked the coot.
But is it his "due?" Novak's been a reliably awful man for decades, but there are so many who are so much worse. Drudge, Rush, Sean, Savage Weiner--all those men and more should've been locked up for treason years ago.
Novak's an old "conservative" hack, but he behaved civilly a lot of the time as a TV pundit, and played by the old rules.
So no, I'm not enjoying it so much, because I feel like we're being thrown a bone.

14. BUT MY BIRTHDAY WAS AUGUST 4TH!!! |
|
Sorry didn't mean to shout, but when Jon said that I was all happy... because when it happened I thought "There IS a God and he LOOOOOVES me!!! Happy birthday to me!"
So in case any of you, or Jon, are still wondering, this was God/Karma/Fate's 34th birthday present to l'il ol' me!
(Heh, self-important much? NAAAAH....)
But come to think of it, didn't Clinton get out of impeachment on February 12th? That's my Right-wing pigdog of a brother's birthday too... I remember thinking what a bitter pill that must be for him on his birthday...

that it indicates the growing tension among those who are involved in the plot to expose Valerie Plame's identity, I think that it is important. Novak is a vile creature, who has taken pleasure in causing the suffering of others in the past, and I think CNN should have dropped him long ago.

that I think Novak's melt-down is a result of his knowing that prosecutors have linked the Plame case and the Lawrence Franklin/Steve Rosen/Keith Weissman indictments on the neocon spy scandal. Two links that DUers should keep in mind: the Washington Post's Glenn Kessler, and William Luti. Novak understands the shit has hit the fan.

13. Did you catch the New Your Times article today? |
|
They point out the fact that Rove and Novak have previously danced a similar dance together back in 1992. I found this line particularly humorous, "Mr. Novak, who stalked out of a live program on CNN on Thursday after uttering a profanity on the air, declined to be interviewed for this article."http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/06/politics/06novak.html

So he said something stupid on television. It's not like that hasn't happened before. It'll be forgotten in less than a week, and Novak will still be getting fat paychecks for his whoring.

16. No. This is not his due. |
|
Being suspended for cussing and walking off the set is not his due.
That just got him off the set scot-free from having to answer Rove/Plame questions.
His due is prosecution and conviction for revealing classified info.
JAIL TIME. Not being removed from TV, where he should not be exposing innocent minds to his crap anyway.

33. Let's line up the stressed people. |
|
--Over 200,000 soldiers and contractors serving in Iraq. --Families of same at their home countries. --Civilian Iraqis in Iraq with little water, electricity, jobs or security. --Iraqis who've lost over 100,000 of their friends and family members in this war. Americans and others who've lost 1800+ of their friends and family members in this war. Tens of thousands who have been injured. God only knows how many who will bring Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome home, or exposure to depleted uranium.
--And, then, there's ... Bob Novak
Frankly, if his stress position were a little more like one of those approved by Alberto Gonzales, that would be about right.

I really did.
I don't expect anyone's familiar with my posts, but if you were, you'd know that I am an angry hater of the fascists that the Republicans have become over the past 30 years.
And the Christian fundies are the worst.
Yet I felt sorry seeing this poor little man under such stress. So what if he's part of a conspiracy to cover up the greatest scandal and evil-doing of our lifetimes? I still felt sorry for him.
