Imagine a United Right under Mike Harris...Goddamn it, with all the minority governments that would cause, we'll be having elections every 6 months...lol.
Why?
1. The NDP will be too small to be a coalition partner.
2. Aligning with the Bloc Québécois would make the party who does it seem unpatriotic and would push the Conservative Party of Canada (proposed name) far left of where its members will want it and would make the Liberals and their anti-separatist flag-waving look hypocritical.

...an oxymoron if there ever was one....wouldn't even get THAT close to forming a govt.
The NDP will make gains long before the increasingly frantic CA does.

The CA is almost at NDP levels in the poll right now.
It's only a matter of time...

6. Thanks! (but I disagree) |
|
Thank you, as always you are very kind to my country. :D
However, I disagree. I would have to say that Canada is more progressive than Costa Rica. Yes, we have no standing army and have universal healthcare.
But abortion is illegal, we have no separation of church and state (for the first time in history, next year's budget has ZERO funds going to the catholic church... at least it is a step forward), and although per capita GDP has tripled in the last 10 years (in US dollars... in colones it's a lot more because of exchange rate increases), and extreme poverty levels are steady in 20% (the same 20% we had 20 years ago).
Canada... gay marriage will soon be a reality there, and they are seriously discussing legalizing marijuana. So, my vote goes to them. :hi:
