Walk in a fucking ditch???
The only way you can protest, or have the right to protest, is to walk in a fucking DITCH???

What are roads for? What are sidewalks for?

Bush makes me so fucking sick with his degrading and self serving garbage.

What next? The only calls he'll take from dissenters will be on a can rigged with strings?

The group marched about a half-mile before local law enforcement officials stopped them at a bend in the road, still four to five miles from the ranch's entrance. Capt. Kenneth Vanek of the McLennan County Sheriff's Office said the group was stopped because some marchers ignored instructions to walk in the ditch beside the road, not on the road.

"If they won't cooperate, we won't," Vanek said.

5. Amazing that the support our troops crowd
so little respect for the mother of a fallen soldier. They are always saying the troops died to protect our freedoms. Freedom to what? March in a ditch if you don't toe the party line.

And I'm sure there is just sooo much traffic to disrupt in a town that has only one light. :sarcasm:

7. Hell, when I was there in 2004, we weren't even allowed to get THAT
close. I'd have walked in the ditch to get to the road leading to his pig farm, no problemo.

8. ain't no sidewalks
in some place like Crawford, unless they've got a politician gettin' a favor so he gets re-elected. Pardon my sarcasm, but I grew up walking rural roads and never saw a sidewalk unless I was in "town". Crawford isn't too highly populated so they don't have a tax base to pay for sidewalks. That's the reality I know from my worldview. I think the local sheriff was as accomodating as could be expected. He owes his feilty to the local citizens and has to protect the safety of all. The roadways were put down for vehichle traffic. Having a group of people walking on the roadway presents a safety hazard. Having said that, those red ants must have been a bitch!

9. If the sheriff is so accommodating then, why were the protesters...

forced to abandon their vehicles and walk the remaining six miles?
The roadways were put down for vehicle traffic. Having a group of people walking on the roadway presents a safety hazard. I'd say the sheriff created the 'safety hazard' and then used it as an excuse to put a halt to the march!

edit for grammar
and then again for spelling!

11. This could be a great photo op for them, to view it in an opportunistic
way.

I only hope a videographer is with this group to capture their indignities and then show them to America....the whole world is watching!
