2. Is this a family- mother and father of one son or two
unrelated with two different sons. This also shows how the media goes out of its way to find sexist sterotypes to prop up Bush- all men are supposed to like Bush/Repugs no matter what. Bullshit.

3. I noticed the mother choked up and couldn't talk at the end.

The father didn't seem to have any problems with it, though. The mother is the one who is feeling the arrow through the heart.

4. I am getting very tired of looking at all these people who govern
and make wars and destroy economies - they're all men. Old men. Wonder how often people would go to war if half the rulers were women.

5. Old Men
With very few exceptions, probably rich old WHITE men who benefit greatly from the economics of war. I'm sorry that sounds racist but how many persons of color are actually in a position to do such things?

8. I feel for both of them.
The hug between the two of them at the end of the interview was heartbreaking.

9. The father has a right to believe what he wants...
I don't agree with him, but perhaps it's entirely possible that many grieving parents do not want to delve into the idea that their child died for a lie. It is much more comforting to believe that your child died for a noble cause. Serving your Country is a noble cause, this particular war, is not. Many families simply support their child's belief that they are somehow doing good, regardless of how wrong the war is. So many young people went to Iraq with visions of avenging 9/11 because that fallacy was drilled into their head by the media and their commanding officers.

I just can't criticize a parent who has lost their child, or spouse who has lost their loved one. How can we expect to project our beliefs on them?
