3. it is a regional airport |
|
according to priceline
there are several internat'l airports in texas but if you're coming from costa rica, i'm guessing you'll most likely go through iah (houston) or mia (miami, florida)

7. Crawford is 2 hours south of Dallas and Austin is 4 hours south |
|
of Dallas, so it's about the same.

10. Austin is NOT 4 hours south, but just about the same distance |
|
as Dallas is to Crawford/Waco. It is 4 hours from Dallas TO Austin, but Waco is in the middle. I drive thru there all the time when I go visit my daughter who lives in Austin. If I had a choice, I would much rather go into Austin than Dallas, as they are a lot more friendly to Dems and anti-war people in Austin. Just sayin'

8. Austin or Dallas are where you need to fly into. Rent a car from there. |

... go into DFW or IAH (Houston), then try to get a connecting flight on a commuter to Waco. Or rent a car from those two places.
DFW is the major hub for most every airline in Texas, except Continental (its hub is in Houston).
But, Waco's pretty shaky for anything over mid-sized jets. In fact, there have been complaints from the operators of many smaller airports about the White House bringing in Air Force One to those locations because it's very hard on their runways.
Cheers.
