National Guard recruiters are getting desperate....
Have a look at the setup they had at the local town fair this evening...

They were playing really loud techo music and for a while a few soldiers were standing on the roof of this pimped out patriotic hum-vee dancing like strippers.

Notice the speakers behind the back seat...

The moment I saw it, I knew I had to take a pic and post it on DU! Enjoy..

46. Sounds bad
But worked for Bin Laden. Bush just needs to have the New Trinity (Falwell, Robertson, Dobson) to say that anyone who is fundie and dies in Iraq will guarantee their family's and/or neighborhood's salvation...loads of fundies would sign up.

...that is, a piece of shrapnel from it embedded in your body for the rest of your life.

That picture is pathetic and disturbing at the same time.

Eisenhower and Patton are rolling over in their graves.

19. That's not all.....
a letter arrived to my teenage son yesterday. It was from the Oregon National Guard. My son was gone, so my other son and I opened it up (I know, I know!!!). We took a peek.

It was a check made out to my son. It was for $597.00 for signing up for the Guard.

My other son couldn't believe it. He threw the letter down, disgusted. He said, "Is that all my life is worth to them?????? Going to Iraq and get killed.....for that?

So you see, kids aren't dumb.

Thank you for posting, Chico. I'm going to show this to the teenager who missed out on all the fun.

22. I had a Navy recruiter call for my daughter last week.
I told him, "Thanks for your service sir, but there is no way in hell I will let my daughter fight for Exxon's bottom line. This war inIraq is a moral and ethical failure on the part of this administration. No way will I offer up my daughter to George (AWOL) Bush and Dick (5 Deferments) Cheney." He laughed and said "that seems to be a recurring theme I'm hearing".

I wondered afterwards, though....why the Navy? Are they short on recruits? I wonder if there is a bait and switch tactic going on within the services?

35. The Navy recruiter was still able ot have a bit of
a laugh about it because he hasn't got his ass to the fire from his superiors to find recruits. They are flush with them as far as I can tell, far better than Army or Marines.

42. Thanks
I sent the link to several friends of mine and they were shocked and/or laughing hysterically. We just had our county fair (Douglas County, Kansas) and I was scheduled as a floating backup for the Dem booth but wasn't called. I've got to call someone who went to the fair and find out if the NG did anything like that here. (Although I'm sure if they did anything like that, especially here in THE Blue County of Kansas, it would be all over the place.

BTW, Kansas, last I heard, had a low compliance rate (re: registration of 18 year olds) so this state seems ripe for crap like that.

:hi:

It avoids the auto-defense mechanism of pro-Bushies and may open their minds to *somebody* having lied... which eventually could lead them to the correct conclusion.
