Did *George W. Bush* commit a treasonous act?
From Sept 28 Pundit Pap:

http://www.americanpolitics.com/punditpap.html

Martin wrote then,

This is very explosive and what makes it so explosive is that this Intelligence Identity Act, if it can be proved and Rove can be successfully prosecuted and if Rove reveals that the president George Bush told him to institute this leak, then the President's automatic shield of immunity is removed and the president himself can be prosecuted for murder if any deaths of any US intelligence agents or assets resulted from the leak. This is the only legal statute that has this provision.

Tough stuff.

1. It's been said a lot today--but what a week it's going to be!
I hope it goes all the way to the Chimp, but either way, this thing has different legs than the previous scandals that they've avoided and the media has avoided. What's different is the White House must give an answer on this--and that answer will put officials in jail.

Get ready for the backstabbing to begin!

2. Bush* had no clue, no idea - he is teflon.
he knew nothing about it and could not know anything about it. He's insulated, remember? He NEVER reads the papers so he couldn't POSSIBLY have read Novak - right?

Right.

Think about it.

3. Hmm. I guess that's why they made it a point to go on about
how clueless Bush is and how he doesn't read papers.

Everybody thought that was the statement of a moron but I guess it was planned all along.

9. don't take this as snide...
But you just figured this out? Well, good.

This is the game they've been playing since, um, forever. Reagan at least. Make sure the Chief looks stupid. It's the best (because most believable!) excuse they got for dirt. Isn't this the point of having a moron as chief?

4. ABSOLUTELY NOT
He has not lied about any sex yet, just violence--which is perfectly acceptable socially.

6. He may have.............
but we'll never know. All of the reporters involved will protect their sources and this will die a very quick death. If Novak was the only one to leak the information, he may be held in contempt of court and do a little time, but that's where it will end. Bushco will again escape responsibility. I'm so glad that this administration has brought "dignitude" back to the White House.

7. Everyone thought Watergate and Iran-Contra would go away, too....
...the big corporations who own the media, and factions within the military, the DOJ, as well as the intelligence community have had enough of the White House Squatters. Damaging stories are starting to come from all directions.

And revealing the name of a CIA operative is the worst thing anyone can do. It not only jeopardizes the life of the agent but it also jeopardizes the lives of all of those in contact with the agent.
