Current TV Will Be Dead By Year's End
Boring and childish.

1. If we get back Newsworld International then I'd be fine with that
but I have found the Current TV broadcasts to be incoherent and discombobulated.

5. I do not recieve it, but it sounded to me
to be patterning itself off of how MSNBC started.. remember the "video computer" guy, and Soledad and all the "young folks"?? It was piecemeal and jumped all over the place.. snazzy sets and techno wizardry?? They soon realized that "the kids" were not interested..

Shame on Gore and his moneymen for not using the opportunity to incorporate DemocracyNow, FSTV, Link and a few others' style of "just the facts" and documentaries that everyone should see. like Harvest of shame and others that are never shown these days because they hit too close to home..

They are a bunch of old guys trying to "act like the young'uns" and catering to them will not work..

Even if it DID, what's the point? Young people do not "need" their own news.. they only need THE news..

3. Lighten up...It's just a start up
There's loads of improvements needed...but'cha gotta start someplace...it'll get better.

I switch to it when I'm bored...like I also do w/ LINK TV...I look at it as yet another progressive perspective...and that's a good thing in these media monopoly days...

7. Started At The Wrong Place And Headed In The Wrong Direction
It isn't that there's loads of room for improvement. They need to scrap their entire format and put the airspace (wrong term for a cable outlet I suppose) into some sort of shape that would actually be attractive, informative, and addictive. I have found it almost impossible to watch it for more than 5 minutes any of the many times I've turned it on - and I am one of the ones who is trying to like it.

4. IMHO Gore is mistaken not to make it the opposite of Faux Network
The DLC (Democratic 'Losership' Council) influenced ideal of not challenging the rePukes directly and LOUDLY will not sell- to most liberals/progressives nor knuckle dragging conservatives) - because there are people and institutions already in existence that have tried, failed and are now gravitating furiously towards the neo-con agenda. The only viable and under funded option left is the "in your face" challenge that democrats are not quite eager to embrace.

I will not be surprised to read of the demise of Current TV sooner or later. Since I do not care much for what it is doing, I will be pleasantly surprised if it turns out otherwise.

6. Agree.
Could there be a better time for a liberal news station?

9. If you find the format awful
then change it. You could do all kinds of stories with liberal slants, it doesn't have to be just politics. He's basically said that you have a say, and you can do something about it.

Come on, there are tons of stuff on the net that could be put on there. Of course, with some of it, you'd have to clean it up, but they are looking for more imput. Do it!

10. Is there any news programming at all on Current?
I checked out the website and didn't see anything that mentioned news programming. I haven't yet seen it on air, so I don't know what its all about.
