Tom DeLay's Communication Director fights in a "Battle Zone"
While Americans are being killed in Iraq, the Houston Chronicle wrote an article on Tom DeLays new 33 year old communication director "New DeLay spokesman at ease in a battle zone".

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/front/3300215

Is the 33 year old fighting in Fallujah? Or Baghdad fighting the evil doers? Seaching for weapons of mass destruction while dodging IEDs, or coming under sniper attack while saving his fellow marines?

No, he is behind a desk in sugarland.

The title of the article is insulting. You can write to the chronicle at;

or the writer at samantha.levine@chron.com

1. That one really pissed me off. Here's my e-mail to the paper
Subject: Shame on you.

Tom DeLay's communications director is fighting in a Battle Zone? Ask Cindy Sheehan what her definition of a battle zone is. Apparently your staff isn't intelligent enough to understand the true meaning of those words.

The only battle anyone has to fight working for Tom DeLay is to defend him now that he's been caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar. It would be difficult to defend someone who'd stoop to using a children's charity to launder illegal campaign money. But that's NOT a battle zone.

By the way, he's the perfect age to be serving in a real battle zone. In fact, why isn't he there already? If he needs help or information on how to sign up, just let me know. I'm sure I can direct you (or him) to some people in the know.

You really should be ashamed of this article. It's an insult to those who are really fighting and dying regardless of what their feelings about "Operation Iraqi Freedom" or "Misson Accomplished" or whatever trite and tacky phrase they're now using to describe the carnage and chaos that is going on in Iraq.

Sincerely,
******* ********
Omaha, NE

Sent this: "As a veteran, I found the recent article about Kevin Madden to be in extremely poor taste. Tom Delay's spokesman is not "in a battle zone." He is yet another privileged chickenhawk sitting in an air conditioned office safe at home reaping a hefty paycheck, while enjoying Budweiser and chicken wings. The real soldiers are the ones who risk coming home with missing limbs or in a body bag. To equate the two is insulting both to the soldiers and to their families."
