Rove was fired by Bush Sr. for leaking to Novakula
Better check out this blurb on LBN, brought to us by Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo.

Sources close to the former president say Rove was fired from the 1992 Bush presidential campaign after he planted a negative story with columnist Robert Novak about dissatisfaction with campaign fundraising chief and Bush loyalist Robert Mosbacher Jr. It was smoked out, and he was summarily ousted.

1. There you go! Clear as can be....
Circumstantial, but his history with Sr. seals it for me. He is THE suspect. I also think Ari might have had an attack of conscience and was asked to confirm the leak by one or more reporters and QUIT. Since it's been noted that the outing by Novak and Ari's quitting happened on the same day - makes you wonder. Cover stories can always be made up for an exit. My guess is Ari said goodbye the day he announced his departure and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was directly tied to this incident.

7. He could have kept it from him by...
He could have kept it from Bush for one reason: plausible deniability. In essence, that means Bush knew in general terms, but wasn't told who told who exactly what so he could truthfully deny knowledge. But with this crowd - I would bet Bush knew.

2. This is delicious. To see Rove and Novak both charged with

treason would be such a lovely sight.

6. Would it be Treason for Novak....
If he was told by Rove and knew it was wrong, or is it within his journalistic right?

8. Another columnist who Rove plants stories with is Paul Bedard
so be on the lookout for things from him via Bedard.

You can tell who's he's trying to get rid of by what he writes.

Check out his column from last week:

DITCHING DICK
"There's talk in Republican circles that if President Bush is re-elected, he should move quickly to promote a successor to challenge Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2008 presidential race. But some Republicans want more than just hints about whom he likes. Senior party officials are suggesting that Bush find a nice reason to remove Vice President Dick Cheney and name his 2008 favorite the next veep."

Uh-oh - doesn't look too good for Dick....

10. Then why would Poppy allow Rove
To join Junior's (mis)administration? You don't think Little George had any say-so in picking anyone around him do you?

11. Do you think Rove's peers are doing a "blanket party" of sorts ....
Edited on Mon Sep-29-03 09:41 AM by SayitAintSo
A figurative one of course ... " senior administration officials confirm ..... " They must be sick to death of Rove and his B.S. and see his agenda for what it is .... pure power that will corrupt absolutly and bring thier party down, hard ...

God I love it when they eat their own !!!!

edit for typo
